Updated Review 30-Nov-2024: SIGNIFICANT COURSE IMPROVEMENTS. Art Dye has gone through a course redesign and some significant clean up efforts have made this course better than ever.
PARKING: The Parking is now on the north side for Basket One, walk along the north fence of the Dog Park to get to the first tee pad.
TEE PADS: Many of the tee pads are newly poured and in fantastic shape due to volunteers like Scott who sweep them regularly.
DIFFICULTY: It's the same Ent infested course you always knew but in my mind the new course has a slightly easier feel. Basket 1 for instance is only 212 feet. However, they do have some "Gold" tee pads now mapped for those who want the extra distance challenge.
TIME TO PLAY: Due to the difficulty of the course, and the terrain (spend on some minimal time finding discs if you play like me), then plan on 2 full hours to play this course, unless you like to run it.
RULES: Please be considerate of others and abide by the rules at this park. Dogs must be on leashes. No alcohol, no smoking or vaping.
2021: This is a pretty good disc golf course. They recently added some flags to the baskets to make them more visible. I'd say this is not a beginner course - go to Dry Creek for that. But I enjoy the challenge of this course, and now having done it a few times, and I know where the baskets are, its really enjoyable. Summer of 2020 there is a wasp problem on a couple of the holes so watch...
Read moreThis course has a high degree of difficulty for multiple reasons. Some of the baskets arent very visible, and the map placards that are on about half the holes are oddly distorted. Several tees didnt have hole #s marked, and one specifically had the wrong hole on it (i think i remember hole 10 had the hole 9 placard on it, and someone wrote hole #10 in the wood with sharpie).
Thats all fine once you've played one time, made the first try rather difficult though. But the harder parts were the terrain. Lots of hills up and down to hike up, and woth those hills if your throw isnt spot on you have a good chance of your disc tumbling down to a tough spot. Multiple times it hit a hillside up or down into a thicket of tall shrubs/grass, and because it rolled down it took me a while to find it. SO MANY TREES, i clacked 10 discs full speed into some halfway on a drive. Didn't hurt any discs, you just need to throw perfect or you're down a stroke quickly.
Its a very nice park, would be great for a leisurely hike, but for disc golf its a challenge. A lot of the pathing wasnt cleaned up well as far as plant growth. Lots of downed trees, lots of loose gravely hills to hike up, and lots of old rusted metal...
Read moreFrom my experience, very technical. Nearly every hole has plenty of trees and brush to make it pretty difficult. Course has lots of left over wood and fallen trees through out it though, which makes for some more obstacles and it can be slightly annoying. Definitely has immense potential with some very unique holes, but they definitely need to clean it up before I’d give it a 5 star rating. I feel like par is pretty hard on this course, but I’m also pretty new, so that definitely has something to do with it too. The ground is mostly dirt and rock, so my discs got pretty beat up. Overall a really unique and fun course, and I definitely need to come back when I’m more well rounded, so that I can more fully enjoy the difficulty....
