I had been looking at the same desk and drooling for at least the past 5-10 years. I am setting up my own psychotherapy practice and remembered Gail Badbard from the Cabot House Portsmouth Store when we lived there. My new office is located in Newburyport, MA, so I looked for the closest Cabot House ‘showroom’ and it listed Amesbury, MA, and a phone number, so I called to inquire about the desk and it’s’ availability. I had a strange feeing since this desk had been around for quite a long time, for the furniture business, it would be discontinued. Amazingly, Gail answered the phone! She called the company and yes, in fact, the desk was being discontinued, so I got to her just in the nick of time. We chose other pieces that matched the desk for my office, as well as a desk chair and two power recliners in a very light blue leather; my desk, the chest, and an 18” round table for between the recliners are statement pieces, therefore, everything else needed to blend but not fight with those gorgeous pearly metallic finished pieces. I wanted to evoke the feeling of complete relaxation, safety, confidentiality and security when my clients come into my office, and I know we achieved just that! We had Gail order everything and are now awaiting the release in October of the desk chair and power recliners; but what can I say about working with Gail? I’m not sure I have the words to express just how much I love this woman. First, she is a consummate design professional. A professionally trained ASID designer; and therefore, has the experience, training…all the bonafides one looks for when choosing a design professional. That said, Gail is one of the most fun, kind, sweetest, most wonderful people I have ever met. She loves what she does as much as I love what I do for a living and this makes all the difference in the world. When you love what you do, work ceases to be ‘work’ and becomes absolute enjoyment. Gail has a fabulous sense of humor, and is so much fun to work with. I cannot recommend her enough.

My family has worked with other ASID designers in the past, and they left much to be desired; however, Gail broke that negative mold.

Our work together will not cease with my office decor. My husband and I will be building our own home and we’ll definitely be working with Gail then; plus, I have big plans in the works for a huge project that I will be more than thrilled to have Gail work with me on, as well. It’s wonderful when business relationships turn into long-term relationships and deep, lasting friendships. Ours evolved with the first phone call. Gail is that kind of person. Absolutely wonderful. Absolutely gifted. Absolutely fabulous!

Having Gail as our design partner on several decorating projects has been the most enjoyable experience. We love working with Gail. She is passionate about her work and takes deep satisfaction and pride when she sees the smiles on our faces after seeing a room in our house, which was formerly drab, metamorphose into a showcase of beauty.

We started working with Gail in 2018 after completing the addition of a new sunroom. I'm currently working with Gail Bradbard decorating and furnishing my mother's house. She has been a life- saver through the process. She's on-top of everything, and works hard to keep us on schedule. She found amazing fabric samples, and holds an extensive breadth of knowledge regarding the furniture options. When a fabric we selected was discontinued she called around unbeknownst to us and found a warehouse that still has just enigma fabric left over for our chair. My mother is in FL for the winter, so Gail offered to be my second opinion for paint samples, came to the house with me and gave me the peace of mind that we had selected the best colors.
