Turquoise Shop — Local services in Amherst

Little pricey... To be honest I felt a little awkward while browsing. Which is mainly why I decided against buying any item in here. I am a registered Wampanoag Indian from Mashpee, MA. 50 percent of my bloodline is Native and the my other half is Puerto Rican. I felt as if the woman was a little racist. Which is horrible to admit. Especially when herself looked mixed as well..? Hopefully I was wrong but, I was with another person and they felt the same. Awkward lol... Usually I don't feel the need to let this bother me but I felt this time it was necessary. Sort of...

I have always had a wonderful experience at this shop! The owner is knowledgeable and very nice, and she has a great selection of Native American sterling, tourquoise, and other beautiful, natural stones. The owner travels out west to carefully choose each piece, and I especially enjoy learning about the artists and designers of the jewelry. You will not regret a visit...

What an awful experience. I felt weird in here after my previous visit. My second visit is my last. The lady who runs it seems to act strangely towards others browsing there. It is never very busy and I don't wonder why... no offense. But, recently I've learned a Tribal Council is including this store in an article being written... the article is on racism......
