I would not recommend rhinoplasty with Dr. Malhotra. I had my rhinoplasty done March 2022 and I ended up quite disappointed with both the experience I had at AAPS and with the results of the surgery. Before I get any further, readers should know that this practice incentivizes reviews with free services (e.g. facials), so you may want to take super positive reviews with a grain of salt.
I needed both functional and aesthetic improvements to my nose. In the consultation, Dr. Malhotra stretched the base of the bridge of my nose and asked if that improved breathing; it did, so he said we could widen that part. Almost 8 months later, my breathing has not improved at all, and when in my follow-up appointment I asked about the widening he said he actually doesn't do that (even though it was his suggestion initially) -- that was quite a surprise to me, and I never would have had the surgery with him if I had known he couldn't make that adjustment. Aesthetically, he attempted to both straighten my nose and take out a prominent hump; both things were done but only part of the way (as in, my nose still curves slightly to one side and has a small asymmetric bump).
In terms of patient care, I was extremely disappointed. The staff is all exceedingly polite, but I didn't feel well-cared for as a surgery patient. I felt rushed at every single appointment, and Dr. Malhotra spends very little time with you. As an example, at my one-week followup after my surgery he entered the room, asked whether the person who brought me to the appointment was from Europe, tore some splints out of my nose, and then left -- it was the first appointment since the surgery and he didn't even tell me how it went, what he was able to do, etc. Furthermore, they said they couldn't find the external stitches to remove at this appointment and suggested they had just fallen out on their own. I thought that was weird, because I remembered seeing the stitches that day, but accepted their opinion. When I got home I looked in the mirror and saw yes, the stitches were definitely in there. I had to make another appointment for the following week to get them to take the stitches out; after that second stitch-removal appointment, they still hadn't taken out all of the external stitches so I had to cut two out by myself.
The cost of this surgery was $9000 and overall it was a painful and time-intensive waste of money. I wish I had gone elsewhere for...
Read moreI do not recommend Dr. Malhotra for rhinoplasty. My nose looked crooked immediately after surgery but I had read that it takes time for the nose to "settle" and hoped it would improve. Eventually I had to face the facts that it was not getting better and was actually getting worse. After the surgery it appeared my cartilage had collapsed and I made an appointment with Dr. M specifically to address concerns of pain, cartilage inside of my nose protruding and causing a bump, difficulty breathing through my nose, and the tip of my nose falling over to the left due to collapsed cartilage. Dr. M insisted there was nothing wrong with my cartilage and that my nose being crooked was due to scar tissue. I followed up with a new surgeon who confirmed that my cartilage was collapsed and would continue to get worse over time. I had a revision completed by this new surgeon who had to put cadaver cartilage throughout my nose because the original cartilage was so damaged/weak from the first surgery by Dr. M. I contacted Dr. M's office before I had surgery, but after I had seen this second surgeon for a second opinion, and asked if they would reimburse me for at least half of what the second surgery would cost. I spoke with Sara and Dr. M.. Both tried to pressure me into having a second surgery with Dr. M by saying there are only a handful of revision specialists in the country and the second surgery usually doesn't turn out well if done by a different surgeon. They offered to do the surgery for free but I declined since Dr. M saw nothing wrong with my cartilage at my appointment. Why would I trust him to do the second surgery if he caused the issue and then denied the problem? Sara offered 2,000 reimbursement for the second surgery, but after I said I would not take down my review on the other Ann Arbor Plastic Surgery page, she then followed up saying there would be no reimbursement and there was nothing they would do for me. After weeks of getting the runaround from her, missed phone calls, no replies, I finally decided to move on. The frustration of being disrespected and blown off was not wroth it. The lack of care I received from Dr. M as a surgeon proved to be the same from Sara, as well.

Read moreSorry! I cannot share any photos with you but let me be the FIRST to RAVE about my experience with Ann Arbor Plastic Surgery!! I was working with Tammy throughout my whole experience and she was nothing by AMAZING!!! She was my go to in emails and she was always so kind even if I threw a few hundred questions at her (some even asking again) but she had nothing but patience for all my questions and helped reassure this newb! I've never had a procedure like this before and I've wanted it for 10+ years. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner! I'm still in the healing process but Tammy is always there every time I have a question. She always helps me feel so much better. Often times, when you're in a field, everything is so second nature to you that you sometimes forget that it's someone's first time ever doing anything like you do (if that makes sense?!) but I never felt lost or left behind. Even if I asked the same question, it was answered in the same kindness. I wanted to make sure I was doing everything right (ya know...just protecting my investment) and she was always so helpful. I met Dr. Pramit Malhotra day of the surgery. I went into the process knowing that it would take weeks, if not months to finally have what I've been wanting. I'm 2 weeks in now and just wow! I can tell that things are going to be even. My scars are going to be minimal and the pain wasn't even that bad! I was able to quit my pain meds 2 days after. I also couldn't handle the 2am MASSIVE headache from the meds! I loved everyone at the Waterford Surgery Center too. Everyone treated me with top notch care before and after. They even gave me a 2nd piece of undergarment to have so I can keep clothes clean. I even expressed my concerns about waking up from anesthesia and they did everything they could to prevent that from happening. Thank you Dr. Pramit Malhotra. Thank you Tammy. Thank you to everyone at Ann Arbor Plastic Surgery and Thank you Waterford Surgery Center!! Super happy...
