I was looking for a new cosmetic surgeon as the one I had is no longer in the area. I decided to choose AAPS based off reviews. When I went there to have chin and jawline tightened, I was offered 2 options. The reason I chose the option I did was 1) it was less down time 2) the surgeon Dr. Lapaine, assured me I would see the results I wanted. My procedure involved neck liposuction with renuvion, which would address tightening the skin. In addition, I got some fat grafting on my face.
Fast forward 10 months,...Dr. Lapaine moved so my follow-ups were cut short. No fault to him for moving.
The liposuction worked, but I didn't have a lot of fat from the start, just a small pocked under my chin. Now I have platysmal bands and loose skin on my neck and chin, where I never had that before.
Also, none of the fat grafting adhered, so that was a waste of $2,000. I was told by Dr. Lapaine they would do touch-ups if I wasn't satisfied with the fat grafting, but he left, and apparently so did that promise.
Today I went and met with Dr. Malhorta to discuss my disappointment with my results. When he came in the room, he didn't introduce himself or bother to shake my hand. He stayed against the door and seemed to already have a defensive attitude. He was very dismissive, and tried to tell me the platysmal bands were always there, yet I was a bodybuilder for several years, down to less than 10% bodyfat, and never had those. I researched "platysmal bands after neck lipo" on-line via medical journals and reputable sites (not reddit, realself, and such sites). All information pointed to a surgeon not doing the procedure correctly.
Dr. Malhorta's solution to make me happy? I could pay even more money to get botox in my neck to try to soften the bands. Didn't even offer to cover that. I will say he did offer to do ONE treatment of PRP under my eyes because of the fat grafting not adhering, but when I mentioned AAPS's own esthetician said a person needs at least 3 session of PRP to see favorable results, he said they would only pay for one.
So, as much as I loved my esthetician there, I will not give one more penny to AAPS. I have given quite a bit of money to them over the past few years.
I can now see why they can neve get a 3rd surgeon on board,....who would want to join that team?? Oh, and the two surgeons they have are not well-versed in any surgeries for face or neck, so if that's what you want, do yourself a favor and go somewhere...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWOW! Dr. Malhota is the most talented plastic surgeon I have ever met. Seriously, in a week my stitches were out with barely any pain from day one. I canāt even tell where the stitches were because thatās how mindful he was to make them hidden. In one week I had a brand new nose with barely any bruising! Seeing people come out of nose jobs looking like they just got out of a bar fight made me dread the surgery, but I can tell how gentle the doctor was because I barely had any bruising and the pain was very minimal. My family still canāt believe how I look so good so fast. I cannot emphasize enough how over and beyond happy I am to have chosen Dr. Malhorta to do my nose. I am 36, and always had a fear to change something so prominent on my face in fear that I would not look like the same person. But it is so natural and beautiful now, and even my relatives who are extremely particular say that it looks meticulously refined and gorgeous. They all want to do their nose now! Not only was the doctor kind with amazing bedside manner, he most importantly listens to exactly what you want. My new nose looks like I was born with it, and matches my face perfectly. Actually, this is the first time in my life that Iāve had a Dr. come post op to remove my stitches himself to make sure I was comfortable and happy instead of sending a nurse or PA- which shows the extra care he puts into his patients. Dr. Malhotaās staff is an amazing group of kind, educated, and humble women who went over and beyond each step with a big smile to help me along the way, a world of a difference from the snobbery you usually see at cosmetic medical centers. Tammy went OVER AND BEYOND through this whole process and made me feel so comfortable and confident going through something as serious as this. Sheās truly a gem, and Iām extremely grateful for her and all the girls who were equally as sweet and helpful. I am SO happy I waited until I found the perfect surgeon because it makes all the difference. I can breathe better now and I donāt even wear makeup anymore because of his magic hands. Seriously, thatās how good he is. Big thank you to Dr. Malhota, Tammy, and all of his amazing staff at Ann Arbor surgery center. You guys changed my life in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve had two hair transplants over the course of a few years and I have to say that Iām beginning to finally feel comfortable with myself again. The staff treats you well and the facility is quite nice! The surgeries.. well theyāre surgeries, not fun.. but not awful either. Iād say my only complaint is that after care communication is.. well.. annoying.. to put it lightly. The only time I can get a response via email, is when the staff emails me first, and I truly only get one response after my initial reply. This has now happened after both surgeries and Iāve just accepted that if I have questions, itās better to just do it at my next appointment.. except I donāt get a response about scheduling my follow up either, so I usually have to call and set something up with the secretary. After my first surgery, I had to contact them to schedule a follow up. Which is fine.. I was just told that theyād contact me, as we discussed that my process will take a multitude of surgeries. Then I figured, Iād let it slide because it was my first surgery and people do make mistakes.. but now nine months after my second surgery, Iām going through the same thing. Iām tempted to wait until month 11 to see if I even get an email or call for my 10 month follow up. My last conversation in January I was also left on āreadā(not sure what to call an ignored email.) If I have questions, I usually just google and look on other hair transplant surgery centers websites for the answers. I work in the medical field, so I feel pretty comfortable with the after care, and can kind of cheat my way through things by just searching the internet⦠but I canāt really imagine how someone feels who has no idea what theyāre doing and not getting responses.. I shouldnāt put the blame on staff, as itās really only one person causing this. Iām not going to bash their name on a public form.. again, maybe theyāve made another mistake and Iām just the idiot. These guys deserve 5 stars always. My situation is as stated, āannoying,ā but it doesnāt reflect the in house professionalism and care that I receive when I am...
