I recently called Peter to get some assistance with a breaker tripping problem associated with new EPD breakers that had been installed by my yacht club. After consultation, Peter suggested it was probably my Smart Y which was not compatible with these new breakers. Peter recommended that I do away with the Smart Y and install a new 50amp receptacle in the new power pedestal.
I am now happy to report that Peter's expert advice was completely right, and it eliminated the breaker tripping problem.
Peter had been recommended to me by another yacht club colleague who had worked with him on his boat and said that Peter/PKYS was the best in the business.
My friend couldn't have been more right. Thanks Peter!

Read moreI bought a Victron Energy Multiplus Inverter/Charger from PKYS based on the knowledge that Peter Kennedy showed of the product. Victron hung Peter out to dry because the inverter/charger does not operate the way that is described in the manual or in the advertising literature. It operates in a manner controlled by firmware in the unit making it marginally suitable for the way a cruising boat would use it. Peter did not know about this firmware logic but told me to take it up with Victron, which I intend to do. I would have hoped the retailer of this equipment would have become my advocate since they were apparently caught unware...
Read moreThank you Peter for assisting us in troubleshooting our 3 year old Victron MPPT solar controller. We are presently located in Tahiti on our sailboat and solar charging is critical to us. Our symptoms were rather odd and confusing. Peter suggested we may have corrosion in the solar cables. I had already checked that and the terminators looked fine. When I rechecked cables I found one one our splitters had a problem. The splitter let voltage through but not load current. So when the controller started to charge the high resistance of the failing splitter would cause low voltage on the...
