Absolutely love this place! Today I decided to listen to the many of my North Port neighbors, and take a drive to Arcadia to see what all the hoopla is over this place K&J Produce that everyone is talking about. Needless to say, I now understand why everyone drives 35-40 minutes to get their meat and produce! I was thinking, "Another meat market. How great could it be?". I was like a little kid in a candy store! I spent nearly two hours there, and I could have easily spent another hour or two if I wasn't pressed for time! Just to name a few items, I bought extra jumbo sized shrimp in a 3lb bag for $5.99, I got bags of red, yellow, and orange bell peppers for $1, and each bag had between six and eight peppers!! I literally just bought ONE red bell pepper two days ago at Publix for $2.99. I filled my trunk to the max with beautiful Ribeye steaks (5 pk for $12), fresh corn (6pk bag for $1), an entire center cut pork loin to cut up for chops (6 lbs for $7), fresh carrots the same diameter of cucumbers (.59¢/lb) and sooo much more! I can't say enough about this place! Go there...go now! I spent just under $200, and I have an entire months worth of groceries. Maybe more! I'm absolutely certain that had I purchased these same items at Publix, the size of the produce would have been much smaller, the meat less fresh, and I would have paid 3-4 times as much! Publix has officially lost a customer to K&J! Oh, I almost forgot, if you buy a chunk of say... sirloin, the butcher will slice it, dice it, grind it into burger meat, etc...and get this- NO CHARGE! Even the checkout clerk is friendly! The store is kept very clean. If I had to nit-pick, I will say that due to the freshness of the meat, some of the packages leaked a bit of blood, but they do put cloth down in the refrigerator to help avoid a mess. They accept all debit/credit cards (I used Discover, which some places don't accept), cash, and even EBT! They do not accept personal checks, but they DO accept business checks. Who really pays by check anymore anyways?! Lol THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! Again, go there! You will...

We had been looking for sharks teeth up in Wachula and decided to make the drive down to Arcadia just to hit the market, before our return trip back to Jupiter. As soon as we walked in the door, there was a stench that was brushed off as always being there. I proceeded to buy 4 racks of Baby Back Ribs and a 5.4 pound whole beef tenderloin. The other people in my party each bought Baby Back Ribs and beef as well, however they all bought cut beef. The Ribs were rotten. They knew they were rotten and yet they sold them anyways. The fridge went down at some point and they continued to restock it and sell them at $2.99 a pound. We get up to the check out and one of the staff members who had the personality of a rock, proceeded to tell a customer that their Ribs had a bad odor and to go pick out two different packs. Apparently there was a small hole in his packaging and the stench just permeated from the packaging. A friend who was with me bought a giant pork shoulder for his Memorial Day smoker. Whole thing was rotten. Just stunk and the meat was slimy and disgusting. Couldn't even get it out of the packaging due to the stench. All in all, between 4 of us, we purchased 14 racks of ribs, a giant pork shoulder, 2 whole beef tenderloins, and a bunch of pre cut Tbones and London Broils. All the pork was garbage. While this place may have great prices on meat and produce, be very careful on your purchases. They obviously don't care about what they are selling or who they are selling it to. They are super lucky someone didn't eat their nasty product and get seriously sick for selling bad meat. You can't honestly say that they didn't know. They claim to be butchers. Any well respected butcher knows safe meat handling and temperatures. They were simply chasing that money. Straight crooks...
Read moreDrove from Venice to shop after hearing some good things about their prices. My son purchased a substantial amount of steaks and ribs went to the cashier and paid and asked her if they could be cut and WOOOAAAH She responds in an abrubt and unkindly manner you have to have the meat cut BEFORE you pay for it. Oh OK sorry we did not know this. She responds I'll see if he will do it. After leaving her window and a few minutes later comes back and says he is coming. SOOOOO we went back to the door and waited and finally a gentleman comes over goes in the door and after another 4 minutes of him doint whatever he comes to the door and says This should have been cut B4 you check out, to which I replied we did not realize this perhaps there should be a sign indicating such to which he turns and said WE have signs all over this place and Nobody reads them. Never did we see a sign indicating meat to be cut prior to purchase. Needless to say I wont be going there anymore. Dont need to drive 50 miles...
