Country Cafe — Restaurant in Florida

Small dining room, and we did have to wait, but the bench outside was shaded, and our wait was short. We arrived for a late breakfast (10 am) and coffee was delivered as soon as we were seated. The eggs were cooked to perfection (over medium isn't that easy to achieve), and the bacon was crispy and so plenty that I had to share with my husband. (Pretty sure that was the best bacon I've ever had.)

My husband said his biscuits with gravy were great, too. Coffee refills were offered twice during the meal, which came quickly. I had to complement the cooks, as getting two different breakfast plates done correctly, quickly, and to perfection is a skill, (I always get something done too fast, or something done too slowly). Our bill was just a penny over $20.00.

The 2-page breakfast menu had many offerings, including some creative omelets. I didn't see the lunch menu, but specials posted looked good, especially the Reuben! I'll have to go back to try that!

I am local, but I'd not been there before and didn't know any of the staff, so the quick service was definitely not based on "who" I was, as another stated. They just have good service, for anyone.

Horrible way to end a perfect weekend. My husband and I stopped for breakfast, arrived at 10:30. There were seats available, but we were told to wait outside. If they’d told us then we might not get breakfast, we would have understood. Instead, Ten minutes later a woman came out and said they were only serving breakfast for five more minutes. Nasty when we reminded her we’d been waiting for awhile. Ten minutes later, we were seated the same time as another couple who’d just arrived. Of course, breakfast was over. Someone came over to inform me of her name, the same hostile person who informed us we had to be seated in five minutes or miss breakfast - then continued to keep us waiting even though there were seats available. She even told another customer she should’ve gotten up earlier if she wanted breakfast!!! The food was good, but the way we were treated ruined the experience. I left a $20 tip because it’s my policy to do so, regardless of the service. Anyone could have a bad day. As a restaurant owner for 15 years, I watched my competition come and go. There’s only one reason restaurants fail - poorly treating the people who pay your bills. People will put up with just about anything,...

Hello Foodies!! Have I found a "Secret Gem" for those living and/or traveling through Arcadia Florida. If not? put it on you BUCKET LIST! Don't let the outside line detour you from pulling into to. This is, in my opinion ONE of the "LAST MOM and POP" dinners that truly meet the definition. Lunch was served during this visit and here is this Foodie's breakdown. The Wait: The dinner busy... when full give them your name and wait... your entire party must be present to seat. (you'll understand when you arrive). DO NOT LEAVE!! The Diner: CLEAN... The decor quaint, homey, and comfortable, with a "Western" flair. The Staff: Friendly, knowledgeable and professional The Food: I had Cod with French Fries... I have eaten fish all over this country and even though it's frozen...OMG they deep fry it on point. Moist, perfectly golden and served up with some wonderful starter sauce. Meal Cost; Very easy on the pocket, which is a breathe of fresh air. McDonald's was $26.00 for 3 meals here it was $24.00 Final Thought: I'll be back for Breakfast with another review...
