This is not the first time Iāve been an Aldi customer. I lived in Europe for years where Aldi had stores first, before it came to America. Iāve also shopped at Aldiās competitor Lidl for years as well. Iāve never been treated so rudely by any cashier as I consistently do by the AG Aldi cashiers. I shop here and continue to do so because of a limited budget. Sometimes I make large shopping trips. During these shopping trips the cashiers are in such a hurry that all of my items get literally THROWN into the cart so hard I have to deal with bruised produce and smashed boxes. I ask them to be gentle and not toss huge cans on my avocados but they donāt care.
Sometimes I make small trips to just grab a few items. They always insist in giving me a cart even though I can clearly hold the few items I am buying. I donāt want to touch someoneās dirty cart, just because you need somewhere to THROW the items. Your proficiency numbers are not more important than your customerās request.
I had a recent experience that the cashier was so irritated by my slower speed that she rang up and gave the total to the next customer in line before I even had a chance to slip my debit card back in my wallet. Really? They are SO concerned with literally forcing as many people through their tills as possible that they fail to consider that thereās a HUMAN on the other end.
I have numerous issues that I donāt really want to bring up in public so here we go. I get nervous when in public so my anxiety is already high. Forcing me to operate at speeds outside of what normal for me, never ends well. Next, being immunocompromised I would prefer to use my own cart and quarter and not take the unsanitized cart and quarter of another person just because you donāt want to wait for me to finish unloading my cart before starting, even though I have asked you kindly to wait. I move and operate slower than other people so when you huff and puff because Iām not shoving my card in the machine fast enough, it creates a lot of negativity, tension and unpleasantness for both me and the other people in line.
PLEASE CONSIDER THAT NOT ALL PEOPLE ARE THE SAME SO YOU CANNOT TREAT EACH ORDER AS THE SAME. WE ARE INDIVIDUAL HUMANS.
Iām tempted to report this to corporate but I thought a google review would be better heard than complaining to a customer service line.
I know can tell that youāre struggling to get and keep customers. Itās never busy no matter the day or time I shop. Thereās only ever one cashier working at a time. I rarely have people behind me in line so thereās no need to rush if a customer has requested a slower transaction. Iād be happy to return back to shopping at Vons or Food For Less if Aldi management is unwilling to right these...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn 1st day of am grand opening, found bargains on select food items and many household items. Cashier forgot to give me my receipt & another employee ran after me as I was exiting store to hand it to me; cashier charged me twice for my one package of multi paint brushes @ $4.99 & I did not notice til I got home and one told me I had to bag my own groceries which the cashier puts in the cart; the way she had put my own bags + the two Aldi's bags I was given at the entrance, I could not tell til after exiting the store. There is a wall length counter to bag your groceries after checking out which was jammed packed with people so you would have to wait, it was faster to do iti at my car. To get a cart, you put a quarter in the chain lock slot, undo the chain from that cart & the one it is attached to & away you go. Return the cart, slide the chain lock through the cart before it & your quarter pops out. Spent $149. less the $10 gift card I was handed from a manager while shopping for a total of $139. Their phone number is not printed on receipt & hard time finding it on Google. Found the shopping trip well worth my time & I will make the trip from SLO to Aldi's in Arroyo Grande again & still need to get refunded for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's fun to read the reviews, let me just say I agree with most. I was sold at the fact that I was not going to be tripping over carts left all over the parking lot. Finally, everyone actually has to put the carts back where they belong.
I have told multiple people that I will be naming my next son Aldi, seriously considering it. If you are not particular about a specific brand, hands down cheapest place for milk, eggs, bananas, and bread. The produce that is on their weekly sale is so cheap and really equal or better quality than elsewhere. Their chicken breast is the best trimmed and amazing price on sale. The staff are so efficient and kind. All this great stuff since it opened, I'm in and out of there 2+ times a week, and I still have not felt compelled to leave a review. Not until tonight!
On the Aldi Finds, I bought my husband compression stockings for work. He comes home RAVING about them, all smiles, practically dancing. Aldi I just love you; you have a special place in my heart; you make my marriage better by just by being you! I look forward to celebrating our first anniversary year together Aldi in just a couple months. Dankschon...
