I'll start on the only positive. The floor is large and is grippy, for now.
Here are the negatives.
They allow gum chewing and have a gumball dispenser at the snack bar. The lobby is horribly filthy. It's so bad I just stayed at the edge of the floor while games were being played.
They also had a patron skating with a firearm on his hip. No, just no. He was apparently a cop? But remember the DEA agent shot himself in a room full of kids at a school? Yea. Real safe. Take off your gun to skate, or just don't skate.
The entire session I attended several skaters were going the wrong direction , against traffic. Not just a few feet, they were making laps, the wrong way, continuously.
Kids could skate as fast as they possibly could with virtually no control or stopping ability, cutting through lanes of traffic or throwing and spinning the "skatemates" , nothing was said to these "regular" skaters despite them making each other fall and having over a dozen collisions while my group had 0 collisions with another skaters.
If a seasoned and competent skater did normal laps on the outside at a 12 to 15 mph pace even staying away from others, they would get called down, while kids litterally came at you, but nothing was said to them.
Even at the end of the session, several of us waited until the floor was virtually clear with the exception of 7 other skaters who were also skating fast. We did a few faster laps and were kicked out. No racing just a faster 17 to 18mph speed, since the floor was virtually empty as it was 10:15pm and they closed in 15 minuites.
The attached photo shows what rolling about 20 feet into their lobby will do to your wheels. I rolled in on my toes, the clean wheel is my rear wheel, which had minimal contact with their lobby.
Just don't bother going. Every time you touch the floor, anywhere, you might as well have had your hands in a 100 different...
Read more$130.00 for a party pack paid in full from 5 to 6:30 is skating time not mentioned in the phone call or at all at first hand.. 3 pizzas which were dry...a hotnready with crazy crust would have sufficed... staff is nice but the announcer with the leather jacket should stop fronting like hes a hell's angel. Not music appropriate for a 9year old birthday party in general.. you get from 5/7 but what's to do with an extra 40 min of time when there is only 3/4 games working at one time... I usually support a small running business by any means but at the rate of pay for what was received I'm not at all...
Read moreMy sister and I skated here back from 1980 through 83 when it was called Perry's Roller Rink. Being in our very early teens we always had a good time because there wasn't much else to do in the whole area. I remember chewing tobacco out front for the first time and getting sick with Chris- "Chopper", and Kelly Boggs. always hoped that the video game Space Invaders was up and running. left the area in 85. I prefer to be in an area with a lot more to do and more people on the streets at all...
