I've driven right by here many times on my way through Astoria, but today, I decided to stop and take a look. It's a historic cannery that now houses a brew pub, seafood vendor, coffee shop, museum, business offices, tug boat tour, wine bar, a memorial wall that you can purchase a lock, decorate it, and hang it, and Air B & B units that you can rent. I'm sure there is more that we missed!
It's great for a rainy day too because it's all covered.
We listened to the sea lions barking in the distance, took in views of the bridge, watched ships sail by, toured the cannery museum, stopped at the coffee shop to get a treat, made a lock for the memorial wall, and talked with the seafood vendor that sells fresh crab, oysters and seafood.

Read moreThis pier always reminds me of the sleepy fishing town Sweethaven from the movie Popeye with Robyn Williams and Shelly Duvall. It has incredibly beautiful views of passing ships, and I finally explored a bit, there is a small museum, art gallery, Rogue brew pub, and hair salon, and my favorite place to get breakfast is Coffee Girl. They have the most delicious baked goods and fresh coffee. Sit and watch the ships, and have coffee.....You gotta try the peach Kutchen. It's so delicious I've tried to take a piece home for my daughter twice, but she still hasn't been able to try...

A small gift shop, free museum and because of the age poor parking on site ( over the Columbia River.
