Verizon — Local services in Atascadero

My husband and I recently bought new android cellphones from Verizon, first for my husband's phone at the downtown Atascadero store and mine at the Verizon store near Home Depot. Our experience at the downtown store was less than satisfactory, mostly because the girl there (can't remember her name) charged us for some type of Verizon insurance (she said for water damage??) without telling us, requiring me to go back and demand a refund. When it came time for me to replace my cell, I went to the Home Depot location, first calling to ck out options. I spoke to Marcus Velasquez who was a joy because he quickly got me a trade-in credit and then set me up with a new phone and protective cover, easy peasy, and it was almost exactly what he promised in our phone call, without trying to sell me other things or adding charges. Exemplary customer service! Later I couldn't get my voicemail to work, after working for an hour plus with an online rep who failed in the end to remedy my problem, so I went back to the HD location. I talked with Damian, another very wonderful employee. Damian tried and tried unsuccessly to get my voicemail working but explained that Verizon no longer permitted him to do what was necessary, telling me i had to go online again, ugh. At the last moment, however, he had an idea and by taking out my 5G sim card and reinserting it he managed to get my voicemail working!! I’ve been to quite a few Verizon stores, but never have I experienced this level of customer service! I came to the store on 6/19/20 with a smashed phone, needing a replacement. I was helped by Charlie who was very knowledgeable and helped explain the conditions of my previous warranty. Unfortunately my old phone was no longer under warranty and I would need to buy a new one or upgrade. Usually at this point I would expect sales pitches and pressure into buying a top shelf phone that I didn’t really need, at a premium price. Charlie asked me my budget and what I was looking for in a phone. He showed me all of the less expensive models and their pros and cons as well as other customer reviews. Ultimately I was sold on the IPhone SE, which I felt fit my needs perfectly. I was very happy with my purchase and the level of customer service I received! Charlie was great and the rest of the guys at this store were super friendly and professional as well! Would definitely recommend this Verizon...

My husband bought me a new Verizon cell phone online. We went to the Atascadero Verizon store on Sat July 27 to have it activated from my old phone to this new one. An employee named Greg questioned me in a curt manner "Where did you get that phone?" I answered him and then at first he said "yes" he would switch my old phone to the new one. Then he said " no I can't do that. " I asked him why and told him I had done that before but he just said " no you'll have to go to a corporate store and they may not do it for you either". Then he looked at his phone as if I was not there. There was another employee working that day but he was busy helping the other 2 customers in the store. So I drove to the Verizon store in Paso Robles and Adrian transferred my phone to the new one in 5 minutes. Thank you Adrian. You were wonderful. Greg needs a lesson on ethics at the very least.
