Once again, the same mediocre movie theater has been rebranded and advertised as something new and special and it is NOT worth the hype at all. Save your dollars and drive across town to University 16.
Someone told me B&B had "chaise lounge" seats and they do not. The B&B website references their seats as "reclining love seats" and they are not that either. They are literally standard row-style theater seats with automated foot rests (very similar to what's at University 16).
Matinee tickets at B&B are almost double the cost of every other matinee in town ($11+ each as opposed to the typical $6). Additionally, the seating/ floor plan on their website was not accurate AT ALL! It showed reclining seats coupled together as "love seats" and they weren't grouped into pairs at all IRL. The website makes it look like there is space between each pair of seats and there isn't. Again, it's a normal row of theater seats.
The concessions are overpriced (more so than other theatres) and they tricked us with the kid's combo. The sign reads "drink, popcorn and candy" and (after we paid) we asked which candy we got to choose from and they told us the "candy" was actually a tiny snack-sized bag of fruit snacks! Fruit snacks are not candy. The kids were all super bummed.
On top of being overpriced, they actually overcharged us for the concessions and when I inquired, it took an act of congress to get a manager over to fix it and refund my $. We ended up having to wait about 10 minutes for it to be resolved and were late for our movie. It was a hot mess. The employee literally said to me, "i don't know why it overcharged you, but we'd have to get a manager to fix it and there's not one up here right now", as if that was that. I literally had to prompt him by asking, "well, then, can you please get one to come up?"
In summary, its the same mediocre theatre (with the same untrained staff) that it was when under the carmike or ovation name. Don't waste your money...it's...
Read moreWe had a free coupon for a movie so we decided to give the theater a go. I want this place to succeed. I really do. But I'm not hopeful. Upon arriving, there's a sign at the ticket box, that says to purchase tickets from the concession stand. Well, that's annoying b/c now I have to stand in line with people also purchasing snacks but w/e, a free ticket, right? Well, the hubby ultimately decided he wanted popcorn so he went with a large as they advertised half off on Tuesdays. However, we were told that the special wasn't usable on the first visit. Uggg. Ok, at least the large has free refills. He also attempted to purchase a soda, only to be told that all 3 machines were out of order. Popcorn and no soda? What kind of torture is that? Oh, and forget getting anything beside the usual concessions as another movie goer was told that the kitchen was closed...yet they have this large menu of food available. Anyway, about an hour later, I return only to be told that they had run out of popcorn because of the "Little Mermaid rush". But, that's why I got a large... Anyway, free ticket, right? Well, lastly, and most annoying part was that there were 3 kids, ranging from ~12-15, who kept playing music during the movie, pushing the button repeatedly for the recliner, getting up and running throughout the theatre, and leaving and returning at least 20 times throughout the movie. They were so disrespectful, talking during the movie and even swearing out loud. Though this is no fault of the theatre, it seems that children under 16 or 17 should be accompanied by an adult to prevent this type of activity. I want this theater to succeed but they have got to make some changes if they plan to...
Read moreSecond time to this movie theatre and the experience has not been pleasant. First time some guy was trying to lure my 10 year old son when he went to the bathroom. Second time I purchased tickets for this upcoming Saturday and realized I needed to switch times and dates I tried to call and the don't have people that answer phones. Don't live close to this one but wanted to experience screen x for doctor strange. So I had to email them and they email me back and said that the only way to exchange is to actually drive to the theater to exchange at the box office. So had to do that and waste gas that is not cheap. When I get here at 11:45 they tell me that they don't open their doors until 1:40. Now I have to sit here for almost two hours. I'm assuming the manager is the one I talked to because she came to the door dressed as manager and told me that their systems are down until they open up. Told her my situation and she did not care. Like you can't over ride the system to do the exchange. These seats are selected seats so meanwhile I may get the seats I don't want on opening weekend to this movie. Refund is not an option because it takes 2 to 3 business days to get your money back and I would have to repurchase the tickets and be out of money. This will be my last experience here! My suggestion is to find a movie theater that actually cares about their customers and go out of their way to make you happy. That's how people return and bring in...
