Our Brother went to have a watch band pin replaced on his Rolex. He had inquired as to a good Jeweler recommendation and was told (by another business owner in Athens) to try Pirtle Jewelry.
He took his watch and spoke with the Owner and explained he needed the rusty pin replaced. The watch worked great and just the pin needed to be replaced.
The owner, Mr. Pirtle, looked at the watch and said he could see other things that needed to be done. He said he would be “sending it off to Dallas because I don’t do a lot of work on these and it should be back in 2-4 weeks”.
After 30 days, and no contact by the owner, he stopped into Pirtle Jewelry and the owner, Mr. Pirtle acted confused as to which watch he was inquiring about. Our Brother explained it was the Tudor watch. Mr. Pirtle said “Oh…well I have had many of those dropped off recently…I will have to look.” At this point, our Brother just told Mr. Pirtle, “Look I want my watch back…it’s been a month.” Mr. Pirtle produced the watch and charged our Brother, $162.38!! He paid and left.
After he got into his truck he took off his watch to look at it and the pin was UNREPAIRED!! Not only did Mr. Pirtle keep his watch a month, but he NEVER REPAIRED IT AND CHARGED HIM A FORTUNE!
After I heard about it I told him to go to Reigning Jewels and they would get his watched fixed! Jackie and Traci are wonderful and I have had nothing but great experiences with them.
He took his watch to Reigning Jewels THAT DAY. They looked at the watch, let him know it would be $10.00 to replace the pin and he could PICK IT UP THAT AFTERNOON.
The next day My Husband and his Brother went back to PIRTLE JEWELRY TO GET THE MONEY HE PAID REFUNDED. Mr. Pirtle was extremely rude but did refund the ENTIRE AMOUNT. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE GO TO PIRTLE JEWELRY FOR ANY REPAIRS! This is too small a town to treat people this way and stay...
Read moreIf I could rate Pirtle jewelry a zero I would. If you have jewelry that you need repaired DO NOT go to Pirtle! He took a month in a half to repair my chain on my little diamond necklace, not only did he not call us when it was supposably ready he did not fix my necklace and took the length adjustable chain with the accent heart charm off my necklace and kept it! When I called him to confront him he informed me he is not open right now and hung up on me. 😳 I paid him $48.00 and waited 6 weeks to get my necklace back. When I went to pick up my necklace he made awkward jokes the whole time and made me uncomfortable. I should have checked my necklace and made sure the work was done right when I picked it up, but I just wanted to get out of there! I would not recommend this jeweler for your repair needs. So...
Read moreA pawn shop, can't remember which, told me they use them for all their repairs. Took a necklace in the middle of the day, they were open. I was told they were about a week behind; that's fine, it's just a necklace. After three weeks trying to call, I leave message, trying to go by when it's says that it's open and they are never there and never open. Its now been three months. Still nothing. I wanted to talk to the police about this theft but the item costs nearly nothing and I gave it to them. Not enough worth in silver for court attempt either. It's a simple cause of principle that this establishment need to rectify. Utmost lack of professionalism. This whole town...
