Cruise date: WED 10/2/24 - 1pm Dolphin Watch Cruise ... Booking the cruise was super easy! Finding the marina location was a bit more of a challenge but my husband and I made it in time with 15 min to spare. Parking was plentiful and free. Weather was perfect - low 70s, low wind, sunshine and high clouds. The trip started in the bay at the dock, and in just a few short minutes we were headed out to the ocean. There were only 20 of us on board, and the upper deck was closed due to the windy and rough water conditions. As we neared the end of the inlet (entrance to ocean waters) the chop became progressively more noticeable. I was standing on the bow and managed pretty well for the first 5 min, but as the rocking motion persisted, I lost my ability to avoid seasickness. Thankfully there was a recycle bin nearby. A female crew member was in the area and was so very kind and understanding. She brought me a cup of ice and a couple of sickness bags. By the time she returned with everything I was feeling better, but I graciously accepted the items. I highly recommend anyone who is prone to seasickness to avoid eating at least 4 hrs before the cruise, avoid drinking alcohol before and during the cruise, and bring along seasickness bands if you have them. If you typically take anti-motion sickness medication, do so at least 30 min to 1hr before boarding. Eventually the rocking calmed down, and we saw at least 20 dolphins! It was really exciting to see them up close. During the entire trip, our captain shared very interesting information about the species and migration habits of these wonderful creatures. We stayed in the ocean for about 20 min and then headed back into the bay. The captain told us all about the dredging activity going on, the Atlantic City lighthouse, the casino marina area, and the Coast Guard station. It was a fantastic tour and my husband and I had a...
Read moreAs always, although we haven't been in a while, our Dolphin Watching 2 hour cruise was great! It was a little chilly and windy (we were dressed appropriately), but it was early in the summer season, and no human can control the weather. We just stepped inside when we got too cold. The captain and first mate (John, I think) were both courteous and informative. The boat rode smoothly, restrooms were clean, and snacks were moderately priced. We even met a couple from Canada (first time passengers).
I took off a star because the woman in the booth, where we went to check in and redeem our boarding pass, was on a phone call, albeit with a potential customer. However, she did not even acknowledge our presence. Not even with a gesture. We were kept waiting for almost 10 minutes (enough time to take pictures, read the "Lost at Sea" Memorials, and have several conversations of our own--- my grandchildren and myself). The proper thing for her to do would have been to whisper, "I'll be right with you," put her caller on a brief hold, or even hold up a finger. I'm patient, and not easily offended, but out wait time was much too long. Minus 1 star was being kind. PS - She never even apologized for our wait! Otherwise, we had a great time, and will do it again. Can't wait until the AC Aquarium...
Read moreMy fiance and myself had a wonderful time on the Atlantic City Cruise dolphin tour. They start out with a beautiful scenic trip up the boardwalk, before turning and heading out to find the dolphins. We saw a pretty large pod of dolphins, and they circled around for a while allowing everyone to take photos and video. They also had a fairly-stocked bar on board which was easily accessible. The crew was very friendly and the tour was very informative. I booked our tickets via their website, and after booking, found that they offered a Veteran discount in one of the drop-down menus. The nice woman whom gave us our boarding pass brought it to my attention, and went above and beyond by issuing me the discount, and my card was reimbursed the difference. She didn't need to do that, but the customer service was fantastic. We would definitely book with them in the future. Also, make sure to stop for some lunch across the street at Back Bay Ale House. Great food, we were...
