Recently I had the displeasure of staying at the Flagship Resorts in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Since it was still early enough, after I settled in, I wanted to explore the area a little bit and grab a bite. After searching online, I found a food truck which featured BBQ cuisine not too far from the property. I walked to the food truck only to discover that it was closed for business. However, that was not the worst of it. As I looked around, I felt uneasy. I felt like I needed to look over my shoulder and keep my eyes and ears open. To put it as simply as I can, I felt like I was walking through the neighborhood that was featured in the film Boyz in the Hood. So, I walked to Ocean, the nearest resort from where I was. There I ate at one of their restaurants. I was full and content. The Ocean Resort was at the beginning of the main boardwalk. Where all the fun things happen. Needless to say, I walked back to my resort. It was about a 10 to 15 minute walk. And this was a desolate walk on an empty boardwalk. I think I saw one or two people jogging on the boardwalk on my way back to Flagship Resort. While I understand that this area is in development, Flagship Resorts is located in the outskirts of the boardwalk. Not the greatest location if you're looking to sell someone on your property. The following morning, I decided to have breakfast at the restaurant inside the property, the Blue Water Grill. There I ate a typical breakfast. Eggs and cheese, bacon, fish (which is more of a Caribbean thing), fruit and a cup of coffee. I would almost immediately regret my decision to dine here. I sat through a time share presentation. I declined the offer to become a timeshare owner at their properties. I decided to take a long walk on the boardwalk. And as I walked my stomach became uneasy. I felt my stomach churning. I could feel that what I had eaten did not agree with me. I found a bathroom on the boardwalk (and let me tell you, the bathrooms on the boardwalk are super clean) and I released whatever demonic entity was wreaking havoc inside of me. A rush of liquid feces exited my body as if it was doing its best impression of Niagra Falls. I returned to the property after this incident and remained walking between the bed and the bathroom for two and a half days. I could not eat any solid food as it would run right through me causing me to race to the bathroom. As if that was not bad enough, I was stuck in my room because we were hit by the nor'easter. I dared not drive back home in that horrendous weather. I was forced to venture out, as I dared not eat at the Blue Water Grill again. I was blessed to find a Walgreens where I purchased Pepto-Bismol, a couple of cans of chicken soup and a loaf of bread. Unlike most of the other resorts on the boardwalk, there was no entertainment at this property. No Broadway like shows, no comedy or night clubs. NO NOTHING. The only forms of entertainment available at the Flagship were an arcade with a handful of games meant for families to get kids out of their hair for a few minutes. And there was a gym. This gym would have been great except for one major design flaw. There was a HUGE support beam in the middle of the room. So, if say ten people were to show up and want to workout at the same time, they would be running into each other. There was also a swimming pool and hot tub, that unfortunately I was not able to use as I was afraid that I would leave a cloud of chocolate Niagra Falls with my illness. Needless to say, I was incredibly disappointed by my experience at the Flagship Resort. I would not return to this property if I was offered all the gold in the Gold Reserve and Beyonce's hand...
Read moreHello, I hope my review of the Flagship Resort in Atlantic city helps those who wish to travel and stay here.
I have read many mixed reviews, many negative and some positive.
This is my honest opinion.
We stayed here this past week. We had a 1 bedroom ocean front room on the 24th flr. The room has a kitchenette with standard coffee maker, and dish washer, a full size slender fridge, pots pans and utensils, 2 TV, kitchen table and coffee table, pull out sofa, many chairs. The balcony enters from the living space. The bedroom has a king side bed, floor to ceiling windows, and gorgeous views. The bed was firm yet soft, with 2 lights above on either side. The bathroom was smaller, but has 2 doors leading from bedroom to the kitchen. The good thing about that is whoever is in the bedroom doesn't disturb those in the living space and vice versa.
Our room was large, clean and smelled fresh. Only wish there was an entrance to the balcony from the bedroom too.
The check in was easy, the young lady was courteous, we had bell hop service, and maintenance greets you in the hall.
While the restaurants in the building was closed, they have many restaurants from 6 to 10 minutes away.
Some resort perks: indoor full size pool, Jacuzzi, also 2 outdoor Jacuzzi, a large sundeck, fitness room, welcome center for meetings, arcade room with a pool table, and air hockey, laundry room, and a gift shop.
There is enclosed parking, for a small fee, but safety and convenience.
Other hotels have ocean views, but most do not have balconies. The Flagship has views and balconies and is ocean front.
The boardwalk is well lit, some guys were on the rocks fishing, and while there is no beach here, a few minutes walk there is a small beach area.
The boardwalk is right out the front door, on the weekends there is Jitney service to take you around town, to the casinos, restaurants, and shopping.
I recommend bringing some groceries with you as there is no major supermarket nearby. The Shop rite is a 20 minute in Galloway. There is a Walgreens 6 min drive.
We are not gamblers but casinos are from 5 to 10 min drives.
The resort is in a nice residential area, it is quite and relaxing, all we heard was the wind, and the waves, and boats.
There is something to do for every age group, btw the pool is between 3 feet and 4.5 feet, towels are available at the pool, and there is a staff member present at all times.
We recommend trying the Flagship hotel There are 32 floors. Some room are reserved from time share guests. We were on the 24th flr, ocean front 1 bdr suite. Not all rooms face the ocean so be sure to request upon check in. Other views include the City and side views of both ocean and city.
We found room as low as $99. The weekends were double that. And i would imagine summer months triple that.
I hope this review was useful, and helpful. This is my review, i was not asked by any staff or member to write it. Lastly, as someone who reads reviews, i was close to not booking. But i found some helpful you tube videos by J.Sparks who has visited multiple...
Read moreLocation is great for those seeking less traffic for it not to be directly in the Boardwalk. Everyone was very Professional, Warm, Helpful & Inviting. It would've have been nice to try some of the food in the Blue Water Grille Restaurant located within the building, However the majority of items have been removed. Their website is misleading due to not being updated with photos, & update Menu. The room was clean and setup nicely however a few things were missed with the cleaning like the fridge needing to be fully cleaned wiped down inside and out. The door of the fridge had smudges all over it and the glass slide doors leading to the balcony had fingerprints all over it. Other than that everything seemed fine on the room. Cookware, Glasses, Utensils, Pots & Pans, Measuring Cup, Bowls, Dish Detergent with Scrubber & Soap for Dishwasher were all provided with Paper Towels were provided which was a plus for me. Prior to visiting for the 1st time I read how the elevator goes down at times which it did while visiting. But I believe that comes from the overflow of visitors and people not fully understanding how to operate the elevator. Their elevator system has all of the numbers outside of the elevator. And once you select your floor number the system also shows you which elevator to get on by displaying a Letter A, B, C, or D as there is mainly 4 elevators per floor on some levels. And once very busy with visitors it slows down the arrival of the elevator as while just be patient. The elevator was down 2 times while I visited the 1st time was due to the Fire Alarm going off. I was on the 12th floor and the elevator automatically defaults by taken myou to the 1st floor and we had to wait for the system to be turned off by the Fire Dept. I had to walk back up to the 7th Floor to eat and looked at it as exercise and by the time I finished eating the elevator was working again. The 2nd time I heard the alarm go off I stayed in my room just to be on the safe side 😆. The Cable TV some channels were Frozen the entire week i was there. If i were able to Screen Mirror that would've been perfect for me however there TV system did not have that option. Other than that my stay was very refreshing and relaxing no one ever bothered me and I was able to relax and rest. This Resort just needs a few tweaks also the walk way to the Garage needs to be kept up more, Which I understand Staff is needed for that. The Resort decor was very eye catching and inviting and again my interactions with the Staff was always Pleasant from the prior reviews which I read. Thank You Flagship for a nice stay at this Resort. Sorry for the pics took when I was leaving could not load the video I took when I 1st arrived providing a better view of the room. Hope...
