I always shop at target, but not after today. 3-29-2025. I am 71 years old and walk with a cane. I had a shopping cart completely full of items and I went to go pay. There was no registers open except the self checkout. This was at 8:00 am. I ask the clerk if some one could check me out? She told me I had to use the self checkout. So I started checking my items. There is no counter space for that many items. I was trying to bag things and find places to sit them, because I could not put them back in the cart. I had to many items to do that. Meanwhile I see the clerk ringing someone else up on one of the main registers. They were laughing, like they knew each other. To lady only had six items and the self check was empty except for me. When the clerk came back to the self check out I asked her " how come you rang her up?" NO answer. When I finished ringing up my last item the clerk asked me if I need any help? That was the last straw. I told her, "no, I needed help 15 minutes ago." I left everything sitting there , and did not pay. I walked out and said" I won't be back, have...
Read moreWhen I visited the in-store Starbucks, the employees were extremely rude and unwelcoming. There were no other customers at the time, yet when my drink was ready, no one informed me. I happened to notice a drink sitting on the counter and politely asked if it was mine. One of the employees responded rudely, and when I sarcastically thanked them for letting me know, she replied with an equally rude “you’re welcome.” The attitude was completely unnecessary and unprofessional.
Later, when I went to check out at the self-checkout area, the staff member there inspected my two $20 bills in an excessive and suspicious manner. She marked them, scratched at them repeatedly, and made the whole process feel uncomfortable—as if I were trying to use counterfeit money, which I was not.
Overall, this experience was frustrating and made me feel disrespected as a customer. I hope management addresses the customer service at this location because it truly needs...
Read more(I am non-hispanic and this could be a case of discrimination that others have said to have experienced.) A few years back it was near the end of Fall at night and so had a puffy jacket that was one of my only at the time. I kept taking the jacket off as it was hot and I was looking at chairs and I noticed that an employee was reporting me as suspicious. They were staring at me like hawks with smug faces and following me around.
They had contacted the police in which a cop followed me to the house and stared at the house with a smug expression before leaving. I noticed a kind homeless man not too far away and thought how this store would rather give opportunity to people that are cruel and discriminatory. I wouldn't be surprised if they contacted police if I ever returned, which I don't plan to. Just go to Merced if you want to avoid petty employees.
What a...
