Good food horrible experience, I have had good luck with the habit locations I have visited in Arizona and California, but that streak stops in Atwater. I have already taken the time to complain to corporate because if this "policy" is true then it's one of the weirdest ones I have heard of. Let's say you place an order online for Starbucks coffee, you indicate that you're coming in to pick up the coffee but then you change your mind and go to the drive-thru, now I have done this in the past with absolutely no issues at all they just move the order from the customer pickup and bring it to the drive-thru window without any incident. I was pleasantly shocked by the lady working the drive-thru that was very short and dismissive of my issue in at one point stop talking and that prompted me to drive up to the window and have to wait for someone to speak to me. Please help me understand why do you place an order online that is paid for, and if you want to pick it up in the Drive-Thru window they deny you that because it's "company policy". Well never knew flexibility was a problem for receiving a paid order, I'm not unber eats or GrubHub, I'm the actual customer who ordered and paid on his app and came to pick up his food. I can say after thoroughly inspecting our food it was of good quality is always, but the disappointing customer service experience really put a dark cloud over the entire experience. Please let your customers pick up their paid orders without any drama, we came for food...
Read moreThe wife introduced me to The Habit when I moved back to California. I don't pay attention to the world around me, much. She does. I like hamburgers and she was a fan of a So Cal place who is known for palm trees out front. I honestly don't get the hype but would take her there. Had to take my granddaughter to translate... Secret menu my eye.
We moved to central California, which is a great area because the people are nice and hard working types. Silicone Valley was not... Our town had The Habit and I tried it. Loved it. The Atwater and new Merced joints are great. Friendly, do an excellent job, polite.
The menu, like the palm place, which is better than other fast food as well, is basic enough but also has a good selection. I like that. My wife is one of those people who, and I have seen this happen, will discuss options at a food stand with one item then struggle with ordering that one item. At The Habit she behaves! That alone will get me to choose them. I tend to eat at home as I try to be healthy, hard when you are a wreck of a human like me, but when I want something they are my choice.
Oh, the place is always clean and operated well. Good stuff. My wife likes the Teriyaki burger. I get a regular one. I am not a get guy but theirs are good, way, better than the palm trees, not as good as the place where between four and six dudes...
Read moreI’ve heard a lot of hubbub about the habit and how good it is. Well, I stopped on my way home from work a month ago. I had the chicken club sandwich which I could not taste any chicken because it was cooked on the same grill the fish was cooked on. It was the worst burger I’ve had in my life and I’m 61 years old. So I’ve had a few burgers. I discovered dish with the first bite of course. So I went to the register and asked one of the employees how was the chicken cooked . And mentioned the problem and was told that yes the fish is cooked on the same grill as the other food. And next time I come in if I did not want that to happen, or to taste to let them know and they would not put the two together. I don’t know about everybody else, but I know one thing you do not cook fish in the same pan or grill as everything else. So needless to say. That will be my last trip to that habit, and to think that I would have to request my food being cooked separately from fish. I don’t know who’s running that place but boy do they have...
