Old Airport Disc Golf Course — Local services in Au Gres

Can't say enough good stuff about this DGC. I've been going there when on vacation for years and have watched them make great improvements here. There's now a picnic pavilion, and if you were there a long time ago, they got rid of the aluminum pole targets and put up standard disc golf baskets.

There is a donation spot, and a suggested amount, I just pop a little cash in every time I go, inevitably I only have a $20 on me so I will donate that and not donate the next time.

As a sober adult player, I tend to go earlier in the day, but I've never had a bad experience here. I've lost a few discs and found a few, the holes have a fair amount of woods, and most are dog legged. There are some longer holes and I think all of them have a nice launch pad. The back 9 is deeper in the woods and if you want to play those, be sure to bring bug spray. Personally I'll often play the front 9, and they did a great job designing the course, then i can just kinda turn around and skip the woods holes and throw down the last hole (19th I think?) back to parking lot. Standard hazards here: poison ivy, a business with a fenced area you might lose a disc in, swampy parts, and a pond at the end (though you no longer have to throw over that) and lots and lots of mosquitoes, especially in the wooded back 9. But overall it's just enjoyable to throw here! A taste of Northern Michigan...

This course is very well laid out very well thought of however the very front holes need a little of grooming person that was ahead of me lost two discs in some of the pine trees. The edges of the roughs could be a little smoother but whoever maintains us does a nice job and we appreciated that. Overall though like the variety of shots left-handed and right-handed the straightaway shots are a bit long for my style however very well thought out a little more grooming in the front would be great but the back holes in the woods are over the top amazing very challenging...

Very nice and well kept. There are 20 holes with mixed layouts and difficulty levels. Several holes are in wooded areas which make for nice hiking between shots. This course is outfitted trash container s and bags so patrons can keep the greens clean as they play. Overall great course to...
