The Four Ones Landing — Restaurant in Au Gres

I am going to just share some facts of my experience this evening.

First, my friend and I waited nearly 10 minutes to be acknowledged by a waiter. We were brought drinks and ordered.

We then proceeded to wait between 45-60 minutes for our food. After biting into my 2nd piece of cod, I realized that it was undercooked (the first piece was fine). After that, I could not eat anything else as I had the taste of undercooked fish in my mouth.

Next, we talked to the owner who said "it happens" when my friend and I tried to explain the entire situation to him. He was referring to the service issues and completely dismissed them. While he comped my meal, he really didn't seem to want to acknowledge the other issues.

Then, we waited another 10 minutes to get our bill. In fact, our waiter never came back. We were stuck waiting to pay. We only received the bill after flagging down a waitress. She was kind enough to help us.

What bothers me most is that this restaurant, even when Ali's UpNorth and Dunleavy's before that, used to have consistent food and service. It was one of my favorites.

This same friend, along with her boyfriend and I, tried this same restaurant earlier this summer when they were redoing their kitchen and had a limited menu. We had mediocre food and service during that time. I suggested that we try it again this evening knowing that they had a full menu again.

I am incredibly disappointed more than anything. Definitely a waste of time and money. I will not be back. I even went someplace else to get something to eat.

By the way, I eat out way too often. I have never had to send anything back or received undercooked food. I've also never had anything comped. There have only been a handful times were I have had that long of wait or that...

We used to come here quite frequently when the new owners first took over, but the last two times we have been have been disappointing. Slow service lately. $17.00 for a steak quesadilla? There was hardly any steak on it. The pork carnitas sounded good, but there was no flavor and the meat was cut into large chunks with lots fat and connective tissue.. I took one bite, but could not eat it. Our waitress took it off the bill. Thought we'd give it another try. Stopped in for a snack and ordered poutine. Waited about 40 minutes, then asked if someone could check on our order only to find out it was never placed. When it did come, there was hardly any gravy on it. Won't be back. Go to Lonesome Dove...

We have always loved Ali’s and wanted to try the new place out. A waitress came to our table and took our drink order. She disappeared for awhile, came out of the bathroom and sat at the bar. We figured she was talking to someone, but soon realized she was obviously on break on her phone and eating. We sat for 25 minutes waiting for someone to come wait on us. We finished our drinks and asked for our bill. Apparently our waitress went on break and the bar tender was supposed to wait on us she said. They were not busy, two other tables and two at the bar. They were kind enough to not charge our drinks. Not sure if we will be back to ever...
