I’ve been a regular attendee at Auburn Community Church for about three years, even when it was located on Airport Road. I’ve always respected the church and its leadership, but after what happened to me on Sunday, I am disgusted and hurt by the treatment I received.
I attended the 8:00 a.m. service at the main campus at 2200 Hamilton Rd today. After the service, I exited near Publix and attempted to turn right toward Sam’s Club. The parking team refused to let me go that way, so I made a legal U-turn on a public road that the church does not own.
A member of the parking team then stopped my vehicle, threatened to call the police, and said I would be arrested if I made a U-turn again. She didn’t give me a chance to explain myself or hear my side before walking away.
Let me be clear: I didn’t cause a traffic issue, there were no signs saying I couldn’t make a U-turn, and I wasn’t breaking any laws. I was in a rush because my father had fallen and needed to be taken to the hospital. I lost my mother just a month ago, and the urgency of the situation was overwhelming. Instead of compassion or understanding, I was met with hostility.
Thankfully, my father is okay, but had something worse happened due to the delay, I would have taken legal action. I am beyond upset that a church, of all places, treated me like this during a moment of personal crisis.
This experience has left me appalled. The church has no right to dictate traffic on a public road, and the way I was treated by your parking team was not just unprofessional — it was cruel. I will never return to this church, and I strongly advise anyone who values respect and compassion to find another...

Read moreThey are a completely autonomous church which is scary to me. Some of the “experiences” seem very emotionally charged. I do not like the concept either of going to a church and watching your “pastor” on a big screen. How can you truly be accountable? It is almost like the back row baptists as you can hardly be plugged...
