Was in Auburn attending a swim meet and a group of us went to this restaurant to enjoy some French food. The restaurant is on the small side, and unassuming, located next to a fitness place in a strip mall. They have a modest number of tables, but are able to easily handle groups of six or maybe more, or just two if you want something intimate. They have a decent selection of wines, ranging from affordable red and white choices by the glass as well as some very nice bottles. The selection of wines is not huge, but offers enough variety so that everybody can find something they want. Started with the escargot, which was tasty. I had the beef fillet, which had a very nice peppery sauce, and it was quite well prepared. The steak was slightly overcooked from the way I ordered it, but not enough to be a bother. Because all of their potato dishes, apparently without exception, employ chicken stock, I was not able to eat them, so I ordered some broccolini instead. The broccolini was tasty but overcooked, and that made it a bit less enjoyable. My girlfriend got the salmon, which she said was excellent, and properly cooked. Tried to order the French onion soup, which specifically said on the menu was made with beef stock, which is the way it should be done, but upon inquiring, found out that they also added chicken broth to that as well, which they probably should put on the menu. This is a trend I’ve noticed at even some nice French restaurants, where they are not using the traditional beef stock method, but rather chicken broth instead. I guess it still gives a good mouth feel, but saves money. Got a citrus sorbet for dessert, which they make fresh in the restaurant, and it was very good! French cuisine is definitely a specialty, so you won’t find it everywhere. If you find yourself in Auburn, this restaurant is definitely worth checking out. The service was exceptional. Friendly, informed, and engaging without being...
Read moreDining at Cafe de Fleur is not just a meal it’s an experience. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm, attentive service that immediately sets the tone for what’s to come: exceptional food, beautifully presented in an atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between refined and relaxed.
The menu is a masterclass in creativity and flavor. Each dish feels thoughtfully crafted, showcasing fresh, high-quality ingredients with a modern twist. The appetizers were a standout particularly the Breads with the different in house made butters, bold yet balanced in flavor. The mains followed suit; Salmon just melted in my mouth, perfectly complemented by the seasonal vegetables.
But what truly elevates Cafe de fleural is its attention to detail. From the plating to the pacing of each course, nothing feels rushed or overlooked. Even the wine list is expertly curated, with knowledgeable staff (particularly Ethan) ready to recommend pairings that enhance the meal without overwhelming it.
Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging in a great night out, Cafe de Fleur is the kind of place that reminds you why dining out can be such a joy. I left already planning...
Read moreThe setting of the restaurant really makes you feel like your in a little French cafe, and the food is incredible! My wife and I had the Plateau a' Fromages, for our appetizer it’s was really good but you will have to ask for some more baguettes. It only came with 3 little pieces for 4 different cheeses and spreads, but nevertheless it was amazing. For our entrées my wife had the Croque Monsieur, it was the fanciest most aesthetically pleasing tasty sandwich I’ve ever tried she absolutely loved it, and I had the Steak & Pommes de Terre, the ribeye was fantastic with the wine jus, grenailles potatoes, foie gras butter. All in all definitely a 5 star restaurant for Auburn, so happy to have them in the community, and we will definitely becoming back!! Also our waitress was super helpful and attentive, that’s a BIG thing these days. Thank you for such a wonderful...
