Kims Oriental Market — Local services in Augusta

Have never felt so I un-welcomed in an international market before today! The tone of voice, in which the cashier spoke to me and my family, was shamefully full of bigotry and ignorance. I have lived in many countries and never had to experience such condescending responses, being followed, talked down at or insulted with the nasty nice attitude . Not sure if this is what should be expected in Augusta, Georgia but we are definitely not in the sixties and this behavior needs to STOP! When this cashier (probably the owner) was over joyed to tell us bye...what she doesn’t expect is for her bye to be a permanent of my green money! You will never receive my business again and the more you treat people nasty in the minority area that you chose to do business...Then the more your should realize why you are not growing. Remember that it is not just the people that look like you that deserve Respect or that keep a business Successful... It is the Community that will make...

For years I used to shop at the Oriental Market just down the street, as it had Japanese food (and one of the few Asians stores back then). When the couple retired, thank God, Kim's was just a block away!

Happy they also stock Japanese food; fresh local Asian produce; and even selections of rice cookers; cutlery; and baskets (especially the HUGE ones for preparing produce); blankets; and general periodicals (magazines/books). They also offer Asian prepared vegetables (salads); and have a HUGE chest freezer for all the different varieties of fish/ocean life needed for Asian dishes. Want squid or octopus, they have it!

Nice rice selection (even upto 50lb bags).

They carry Korean; Japanese; Thai; Cambodian and Vietnamese food/drinks.

A one stop Asian general store. So have time to shop, as there's a lot of stuff they crammed...
