Dangerously inconsistent. Total Force has the advantage of being very close to base; just outside the gate. However, Total Force is hit and miss when it comes to their tailoring. I've attached photos to explain the following situation:
While I was deployed, I was promoted and earned my ESWS pin. I had my wife take in my uniforms to get my new rank and warfare pin sewed on. When I returned, I noticed one of my uniforms had a crooked ESWS pin and my Second Class crows were sewn on backwards (crow facing outward). I returned the blouse and explained the issue, to which the gentlemen working the counter was very polite and agreed to fix it for free, which is why they have 2 stars instead of 1 in this review.
When I picked the blouse up again, the stitching on the crows was messy. They aren't exactly even, but one would argue it's just a working uniform and is not very noticeable. I personally take pride in my uniforms and I was not very pleased with the work.
The true issue is the ESWS pin. After originally being crooked (very noticeable compared the EIWS pin above), the "fixed" ESWS pin is unevenly cut and the stitching is anything but straight. The ironic thing about the stitching on the pins is that both were done, at separate times, by Total Force. Total Force IS capable of good work, but they are not consistent in that work.
Fort Gordon is primarily an Army base, and obviously a majority of their work is done on Army uniforms. I warn my shipmates to be prepared for errors and to inspect any work done by Total Force CAREFULLY, as they do make mistakes on Navy uniforms. I recommend taking your business elsewhere, especially for work on...
Read moreBrought in a plaque Total Force had made that needed an insignia swapped out as well as a repair. Sales lady kept calling the insignia "rank" and the sales guy began swearing in front of me about the repair. I explained I was only bringing the plaque in for another Soldier who'd originally ordered the plaque but was unable to come in. The other Soldier has brought lots of business to Total Force over the past 4+ years, but the sales guy was still clearly upset. The sales lady said they'd have to charge me $25 to swap out the "rank" (the insignia) and told me it would be two weeks to complete both this and the repair. I asked for the plaque back, but magically the sales guy had already taken it in back, had it apart and had changed the "rank" (the insignia), so the sales lady said I still owed them the money anyway. The sales guy at least made the needed repair while I was in the store, which is why I gave them two stars instead of one. I don't know why they'd told me it would be a 2 week wait earlier other than spite toward the other Soldier--but who again had brought them lots of business for 4+ years. I've never been to a shop where the employees didn't know basic terminology like the difference between rank and insignia or swear and get upset at a potentially new customer. I won't be back although I'm new to the area. I've been to a lot of plaque shops before at other duty locations, but I cannot recommend Total Force. They just lost at least 3 years of potential business and referrals...
Read morePlease keep in my my order I put in was not 100% from them. We ordered a statue from another company based on the specific request of the recipient and that Total Force does not carry this statue.
I put in an order for the engraved plate to be mounted on the front of the statue. I gave them the statue and they assured me that everything requested could be done and we would have back within five business days. I received a call on the fourth business day that the order was complete and could be picked up on the fifth business day. I came on the fifth business day. I was handed the plate only...no statue. I asked where the statue was and showed them a picture of the statue along with my request that it was left with them. It took two employees 30 minutes to find it but they did find it. But they said I would have to come back so they could mount it. I came back on the next business day and it was mounted crooked. Due to the timeline of when we had to present it to the recipient, I could not wait any further. I took it to another business to fix.
To be fair to Total Force, this was not their statue but at the same time I expected the attention to detail and customer satisfaction of which others recommended me to them for. It will make me hesitate to use them for future business opportunities and to think twice before recommending...
