Let me preface this with: I love my dress. But I don't love how I got there. My appointment to pick up and get a fitting on my dress was amazing. That staff member was AMAZING and the below review is not reflective of her specifically.
My initial appointment to find my dress left so much to be desired. The woman assigned to us was pushy and barely listened to my requests. We came out specifically from Arizona to shop here and came specifically in December to shop the red tag sale (50% off). I very directly explained I wanted dresses from this sale many times, it was okay to toss in some other dresses too as long as they were under 2 grand. We NEVER saw a red tag dress, even though with each round brought in, I asked again. That is a slimey practice and months later it still burns me up.
We did find my dress that day and I'm so happy with it, but not being heard on such an expensive purchase is SO stereotypical and not okay. She could've at least told me if none of the tag dresses were matching other requirements I had and that was why she didn't. But nope, nothing. She also kept trying to convince me of what I did want and what I didn't want (like a long train). Didn't appreciate the trying to have a "brides never know what they actually want" moment. I came in with a whole board, I knew what I wanted pretty thoroughly since this salon was my third place.
They also had nowhere that listed all the fees. My dress came out to about 1.8k, then we had to pay an assortment of fees like shipping the dress to the store. Additionally, had I been over size 16 in DRESS SIZE, there was an additional cost which is just piss poor practice at this point. The dresses are already being made to order, include that in the price or at least go up to size 20 in dress sizes because I was only a size 12 in jeans when I was fitting the size 16. I got the size 14 but ended up being closer to a size 12 by the wedding. You wouldn't think such a size difference would be a cause for lots of alterations, but it was.
For made to order and 2k later, the dress arrived with so many loose threads and beads, my seamstress back in AZ was appalled. The dress overall had good structural quality but the inside corset had to be realigned and the cups had to be moved and sewn to the V neck of the dress because they were so poorly placed. Day of my wedding I was cutting loose threads until the ceremony. The straps also had to be fixed because the boning went so far up it made shortening the straps due to lost weight really difficult to accomplish. There was no need for the boning to travel as far as it did. As a previous seamstress myself, both the woman I went to and me agreed we saw a lot of sloppy and cheap work once we started peeking inside the dress.
My dress also arrived months early. Not a complaint whatsoever but for some reason I had to keep telling people I was out of state and to stop calling me to come get the dress. I checked the day it arrived that it was fine to stay until August. Was assured it was. Didn't need the constant texts or calls asking to book a fitting. I also felt pressured to do their alterations there, which I ended up not doing because it was 3 hours out of the way from where I was going to be and I just know they would've charged me a rush fee for THEIR IDEA on getting it done so fast, so I was good on that.
Overall, Wolsfelts has beautiful dresses. But their management of clients and how some stylists treat brides and listen to them leaves much more to be desired. Head to Wedding Belles if you're in Arizona instead. You'll be treated with champagne and respect instead and never pressured into a single thing. And no...
Read moreI had the absolute BEST experience at Wolsfelt's Bridal. It was the very first bridal boutique I visited in my search for my wedding dress. I was paired with Amy T. to work with as my stylist, and she was amazing! Amy was super helpful, kind, and extremely patient with me and my mom in our search for my perfect wedding dress. We came in having almost no idea what kind of wedding dress I wanted, but we had a few magazine photos in tow. Amy did a great job matching those photos and provided a variety of other dresses for me to try on. She was incredibly attentive and listened carefully to my feedback and used that to make informed decisions about what options I should try next. Amy was very knowledgeable and answered every single question I had. She was also very respectful of our budget. After our first appointment, we were almost certain we had found the one, but I wanted to sleep on it. We came back two days later, and after further consideration, I wanted to start the search over again. I was super nervous to come back and tell Amy I had completely changed my mind, and she had no problem with it at all. She reassured me that it happened sometimes and that it was all part of the process. Upon our second appointment, I had a better idea of what I wanted, and Amy listened with just as much attentiveness as in my very first appointment. I told Amy I trusted her expertise and judgement and was open to any wedding dresses she thought would be a good fit, and good thing I did. Halfway through our appointment, Amy showed me a wedding dress that I would NEVER pick out myself, and the second I tried it on, I knew it was the one. I was in love and obsessed. Amy had officially found me my perfect wedding dress, and it was not even a dress I would have ever chosen for myself. In a matter of five days, we managed to start the wedding dress search, find the perfect gown (and veil), and purchase it all with the help of Wolsfelt's bridal and the amazing help of Amy. If you have no idea where to start your bridal search, start with Wolsfelt's and ask for Amy T. As for Wolsfelt's, the bridal boutique is the best. After you visit, you can easily see why it has been in business and around for almost 50 years. The boutique is super cute, clean, and cozy. You almost feel like you are stepping into grandma's house, making you feel comfortable and right at home. Wolsfelt's offers a vast inventory of beautiful wedding dresses and gorgeous gowns. All of the wedding dresses are displayed on the floor for you to peruse, except they are all stored in clear plastic garment bags. I know, it sounds silly, but it makes such a difference when you see other bridal boutiques where gowns are displayed without any protection, all the while knowing everyone is touching the fabric. I highly recommend booking an appointment in advance and visiting on a weekday if you can - it's way less busy. However, I did have the pleasure of meeting one of the owners on my Saturday visit, and she was so sweet. If you are a bride, go to Wolsfelt's first and ask for Amy T. It's the best wedding decision...
Read moreWhen I went into Wolsfelt's, the boutique had an extremely warm and inviting feel to it. My consultant for the day was Amy W! We immediately connected and I knew I was going to be in great hands. She asked the preliminary questions (i.e. theme, venue, etc). I explained to her that I was going for a rustic country themed wedding and wanted a romantic atmosphere. Each dress she brought, she was listening to what I wanted. The last dress I tried, the party I brought started to cry. It was a breathtaking dress!! I was holding back because I thought it was too good to be true, and I had another appointment at a different store. Needless to say, the entire time I was at the other appointment, I couldn't stop thinking about that last dress.
I called Wolsfelt's and Dawn answered the phone. I explained I tried on a dress earlier today and was hoping to try it on one last time, so I could have my moment. They squeezed me in, and said Amy might be with another bride but we will take care of you! To my surprise, Amy was there waiting for me!! She had me try on the dress and brought me out on the floor. Best part is Amy took off a mannequin off the platform so I could get the full effect, she wanted me to have my moment!! When I saw myself in the dress, the tears began, it was a confirmation that I knew this was the dress. One of the seamstresses came out and they did a full workup to verify the sizing. There are not enough words to express my gratitude for Wolsfelts and especially Amy W. She made my day beyond what I could have ever imagined. She made me feel stunning and am so blessed for her help. When someone goes out of their way like she did, you couldn't ask for anything else. I cannot wait to go back and look for my bridesmaid dresses. The whole experience was incredible. Thank you, thank you, thank you form the bottom of my heart! I said yes to the dress and Wolsfelt's and...
