I had a procedure done at St Davids in mid January this year and after thinking all expenses had been paid, a full month later I see my HSA showing a possible expense to Austin Anes. Group. I reach out in February after seeing this and at least confirmed they have my mailing address for the bill to be sent to me. They say it will be mailed out soon if not already done. I waited for my Insurance EOB to come in and confirm this was a legitimate charge and it is... Here we are 3/13 and I have yet to receive a bill. I've been on the phone with a rep. for 30 minutes being researched and transferred to different departments because they "can't locate my account", which I find strange because the first person I spoke with in February found me very quickly. I was told that my account is "updating" and that is why he can't see the information on his side but this other department was able to give him this info. After asking what that meant, he explained that it was just going through insurance and they'd be sending me a statement... I don't know where the miscommunication is or lack of organization, but this is one of the worst companies I've had to deal with. I requested they call/email me when statement was available and being mailed, but he couldn't do that. I asked if this "other department" that he reached out to for the info could do that for me, and he conveniently couldn't reach them. I've seen TONS of other reviews about patients not receiving their bills (or even knowing that they owed someone) and all the sudden getting collection calls about it. I'm trying not to be one of these victims, but it appears regardless of the efforts made this company doesn't want to be paid and doesn't care who...
Read moreAs a patient you really have no choice whether you use this company or not, but of all the medical companies we have had to deal with during our daughter’s birth, this company is the absolute WORST. I offered to pay them what we could afford every month, but that wasn’t good enough for this GREEDY company. I asked them if they would consider a deep discount and I would see if I could afford that amount, they again refused. They said they were doing all they could by requiring me to pay the entire bill, in full, in sixth months time, knowing I had just had major surgery and had a slew of bills coming in. They also kept suggesting that I take out an additional line of credit with Care credit, as if they were in cahoots with them for a kick back. All of the people we spoke to had no customer service skills and sounded like heartless robots reading a script except when making really rude comments. Laura, Greslie, and especially Team Lead, Vanessa Lugo were all TERRIBLE. Vanessa had the audacity to tell me that I should have known that it would be expensive to have a baby!!! Oh, thanks for patronizing me, and bringing that up, I had no idea???!! Not sure how these people sleep at night being so unkind and knowing they do nothing worthwhile during the day. This company should consult with other medical companies on how to do business with people who are willing...
Read moreI would give this company zero stars. They gave me an epidural during my pregnancy. Before using the hospital Texas Women's I checked with their billing department to ensure everything was in network for my insurance. I also checked my doctor was in network. The hospital had my approximate due date scheduled and knew I was coming in. Austin Anesthesiology decided to bill me out of network, which was either a mistake or balance billing which was outlawed in Texas. I sent them and my insurance detailed emails with all the information needed. Somehow they are the only providers who were unable to get paid and continued to send me bills for thousands of dollars. They ignored all emails and did not respond to myself or my health insurance other than to send late notices. Finally, they submitted my account to collections, still with no response. I continued to email, send written letters and call. All of a sudden, they sent a bill for a hundred and some dollars rather than thousands. I called and spoke to the collections agent, they stated if I paid this off my account would be settled. I paid it off and have the records. A couple months later another bill from them popped up on my credit report for $116 and they put a derogatory mark on my credit. What dirty games are they playing? This has been going on for 2.5 years...
