Overall, I had a good experience with Austin Boat Rental and found the Groupon to be well worth the price. The process of booking and getting on the boat was smooth, and the staff was professional. However, I did have one issue that made the experience less enjoyable. My partner and I were the first to board the boat, and we chose to sit in the only shaded area for personal reasons. Shortly after, a larger group boarded, and the captain, Riggs, called us out from across the boat, asking only me and my partner to move so the group could sit together.

It was really awkward and uncomfortable to be singled out in front of everyone, especially since I had chosen my seat deliberately. I would have been more understanding if it were a family with children, but that wasn’t the case. This situation instantly made the environment feel unwelcoming, which was disappointing.

I don’t think there was bad intent from Riggs, but I believe the group should have been the ones to ask if anyone would be willing to move, rather than the captain putting us on the spot in front of everyone on the boat. Other than that, it was a decent...
