Estilo — Local services in Austin

I’m very thankful that the team at Estilo helps me pick things out for cute casualwear or for dressier items. The best part of Estilo is that they’ve cultivated selections so that it’s not an overwhelming shopping experience. It’s like they’ve picked the best things out of a bigger store that I love and put them all together for me at the same price point, saving me the time of having to wander around in Nordstrom‘s or Neimans (exhausting). Also of note, there’s typically a fairly interesting selection of precious and costume jewelry, I’ve gotten a few really neat pieces there. Like a ring with pave diamonds in the shape of a snake, how unique!

Meh. I’ve tried this place a few times over the years and always end up disappointed. They stuff their racks so full that it’s impossible to look at anything and stuff is constantly falling out and getting tangled. Extremely disorganized with the same items on multiple racks. Once I asked for a different size and they said no luck but then I found it on another rack! Some girls who work there are very sweet and helpful but there are a couple who are very fake and fawn over only who they consider the ‘elite’ clients who come in. Overall kind of icky feeling and not a fun shopping experience. To me it feels like an expensive Forever 21 for the middle aged crowd (Forever 41, haha). Anyway, I wish the owner would check out places like Moss or By George to see what a pleasant and welcoming experience a high end boutique...
