We arrived exactly at our reservation timeslot as specifically instructed by them "no earlier no later." We then sat in line 25 minutes waiting to park. Once in, the grounds were terrible and dangerous to traverse .... frequently changed from deep sand to gravel to pitted rocky areas. We paid for 7 pm entrance and by 8 pm, only food and junk stands were open. The guy at the walk-through pumpkins just kept saying it would be ready "soon" and added that they "just opened" (implying our belief that it should have been readied BEFORE opening was somehow unreasonable!). The fire dancers were nowhere to be found - a staff member said they were supposed to be starting at 8 pm, but she hadn't seen them yet. We left, having done NOTHING other than pay just under $100 for 4 entries and parking! Overall, a TERRIBLE experience! Regarding the "Response from the owner" ... both my husband and I spoke to your on-site staff that night. The second person took down our names, email address, and phone number. That was exactly one week ago today, and we have yet to hear anything from anyone! Again, we spent ~$100 and got absolutely NOTHING out of this experience. We were there for an hour and the walk-through section was NOT OPEN, and the fire dancers were NOWHERE TO BE FOUND! I have read other reviews of this experience, and am happy that others have found it to be fun ... it had looked that way when I bought tickets, but if things are not going to be ready when you say you are supposed to be open, then that should be reflected in a reduced admission price and acknowledgement that open at 7 pm does not really mean "OPEN" until sometime much later on the first night.
Another issue I did not even mention the first time I submitted this review is that one person in our party of four uses a wheelchair. This venue IS NOT ADA-COMPLIANT AT ALL. It was only after we arrived and saw the grounds that I thought to do a search for accessibility. The info is there saying "The farm is not easily accessible so wheelchairs are not recommended," so it is on me that I did not consider that any venue these days would be inaccessible! I only wish I had seen that disclaimer prior to buying tickets, because I never would have attempted to traverse the uneven, dirt/gravel/sand grounds with...
Read moreLet's start with the good, the lights are amazing and absolutely gorgeous. The bathrooms are clean and have staff there to help the giant line move faster and keep order. My son absolutely loved it and we got some great pictures.
Now for the bad, the parking was an absolute disaster, we waited for 45 minutes in line before we even got into the venue and then it took another 15 to actual get to a parking spot. The parking is uneven and dark, my son fell and was of course fithly as its extremely dusty. If you have asthma or breathing issues it could be dangerous as the dust was omnipresent in the parking area. I hate wearing a mask but honestly it would have been good in the parking area as it was so dusty even my teeth felt dirty.
This leads me to the next issue, this is absolutely not stroller, wagon or wheelchair friendly. Thankfully none of our group needed any of those items, but people with them were struggling. For healthy people the trail is a non issue, but it's crowded and people using those things definitely struggled and backed up the flow of everyone else as some areas are narrow. If you go please be patient for people struggling and dont try to push by them. The venue needs to do a better job informing people the trail is really only easy for people capable of walking. It can be done but it isn't easy for anything with wheels.
The drink stand located inside the trail was cash only. I would have gladly spent money on drinks as it was really hot, but didn't have cash and waited in the line only to find that out when we got close to the front. The line for drinks was ridiculous in the area before the trail, myself and others mentioned we would have bought drinks if it had been easy to do so, but nope, a restaurant on the way home got those revenue dollars. The fire dance is ground level, so unless your literally at the front you can't see it.
If you have gone years prior it is the same, but it really is beautiful and I would go again as my son really loved it, but as parents we were hot, dirty, thirsty...
Read moreMeh, this place came highly recommended to me and everyone said it was so worth it. We went yesterday, not really sure what was supposed to be worth almost $30 a ticket. There's no theme decorating or anything on the drive up to the park, waited over 30 minutes to be allowed to park so it was pretty boring at that point since there's not even any lights. Only a couple little signage things near the parking and leading to the ticket check in area. Then you get inside and you're immediately bombarded by those scammers selling vacation raffle tickets. The main area is just a bunch of plastic picnic tables, a couple of merchant tents you can go spend money on candles, stickers, cups, and t-shirts/sweatshirts. There's one place to get food, it's just concession type stuff, nothing crazy. There's one place to get alcohol, which includes a couple of beers and mixed drinks and a few shots. The only vaguely interesting things to do is 1) watch a fire show 2) go do a tarot reading or 3) walk through the pumpkin pathways. The fire show was cool but short and it's a crowded place with no seating so you're fighting to see. Tarot reading is cool and Halloween-ish but it's minimum $20 extra on top of the $30 ticket and whatever food and drinks you buy. The pumpkin pathway is a good idea, wish there was a lot more effort put in so that most of it is on theme for the experience. It was cool, but you spend a lot of time walking looking at bare trees and dirt between small decorated areas. I wouldn't go back but it's okay if you want to kill an...
