Went to this location to return a portable charger I had gotten earlier in the day at a different Kitty Hawk Kites. It didn't fit my phone so I did not need it anymore. The employee River, was actually the worst. When I first entered the store they came to the register and approached me with a very dismissive attitude. They informed me that I would have to wait to do my return until they went and put the flags away outside. They then just walked away and were gone for several minutes. When they came back they said "back register" rudely and just pointed towards and different part of the store and left me standing there. Then when we got to the other register they examined my charger for ten minutes, actually harassing me and saying they didn't understand the problem. They even said I could have picked up a charger at "any ace hardware" if that was my problem. I had to literally explain the extent of my day and how I didn't have time to do that and If I had time to do that, I would not have needed this portable charger to begin with. Throughout this entire conversation they were smirking at the fact that I was getting increasingly more upset. I am not a person who writes reviews and I'm especially not hard to please. I've worked customer service jobs my whole life and have never treated someone with such disrespect and mockery. River sucked! Thought the manger...
Read moreI had looked around in a couple of other kite stores while here. No one ever asked me if I needed help. That wouldn't have stopped me from a purchase really. It just would have been nice to be acknowledged. I went into the Avon store today and was very happy with the selection. I was especially happy with the knowledge and friendliness of the owner Caroline. I told her I wanted something easy to fly in low wind. She asked questions to determine my likes and dislikes about various models. I got to the beach and found that she had sold me the perfect kite. I'm pretty lazy and also have a back injury so I wanted something I could launch easily. I didn't want to have to toss it in the air like some people do, nor did I want to require help to launch. I was able to sit in my beach chair and launch this kite perfectly. I felt like a little kid again! I sat there and just let it go and let the wind take it! I was also able to reel it right into my hands while sitting in the chair. If you want professional advice from a friendly owner, go to the Avon Kittyhawk Kite store. The rest of the store is awesome too. I found a lot of the Life Is Good stickers I haven't seen anywhere else. She has some beautiful compass items there too....
