Novelty Mart — Local services in Balch Springs

So I had been going to Novelty Mart for a while and after I stopped going to it for a few years and finally got to go back there today I was a little annoyed. While the prices and selection is pretty good on Piercing supplies there is a huuuuuuge down side and that was the fact that NOBODY that worked there knew anything about the actual body jewelery. They are completely unskilled in that area I had to have them pull out multiple boxes of jewelry because I would ask for a certain gauge or style and they pulled whatever they wanted out and looked at me like "uhm is it this?" thus for I had to pretty much do the job for them I had to tell them what different styles look like and are called,explain about o rings and spacers tell them what each size gauge looked like and what piece of jewelry can be used for what part of the body and dont get me started on the sheer lack of training these workers have.

It's one thing to be in training but this was not only the workers who supposedly had been there over a year now but the manager/owner. Nobody in the store knew what the tapers were for or that the oral jewelry comes in different lengths,threadings,material like bioflex.

Just make sure when you go in there you know EXACTLY what you want looks like such as gauge size,stone size,length,style and personally i like to know the material grade because I have had that store sell me a piece of jewelry when I was first starting out and told me it was Bioflex and it just just plain cheap acrylic so even though it is still acrylic make sure it is Bioflex and not the hard cheap acrylic ones that will snap with the slightest bit...

I really used to like this place. never cared for the parking lot tho... it is the worst there are more craters than parking spots and it's been that way since I can remember.. fix it already. Did the whole little guy station but didn't fix the lot too.. just cheap! ((I know it's not all novelty mart but they are still at fault a bit))

Back on track.. i hate the changes to the store. And i also hate being followed and watched!! Everything is in glass and put away.. 2 of tall 2 of us, no need to interrupt every other sentence asking if we need help.. you can hear us talking about what product we want and getting used to where everything is. And half of the store is just gone very limited selection and a new game room.. not excited about that.

I didn't buy anything. I tried to buy some smokes but after all the following and wanting to help so badly.. but didn't even come to the register to transact.. she let me know from across the room "we don't have those." Very dismissive. I told my husband I was done.. not spending any of my money there.....

I've always liked coming to this place ever since I was younger, and yeah maybe I haven't been as often as I used to but only because I moved out of state. Love the selection of pipes and grinders ( got an awesome grinder for a great price last time ) etc they have and every time I'm in town now it's a must stop at least once for me, gotta get those awesome colored contacts ( the whites are my fave ). I remember when I was younger going in there and wasn't allowed past the beaded door lol, and now that I'm a big kid it's not a big kid area but that doesn't stop me from going in like ha ha ha he he ha ha I'm in here in the naughty section now lol. Definitely recommend this place to anyone, although I'd cut back on the incense burning because it's pretty powerful ( just my opinion ). Nevertheless I'll continue being a customer for...
