I am beyond outraged and heartbroken by the appalling treatment my daughter and her young children endured on Breeze Airways Flight 253 out of Bangor, ME. Breezeâs so-called âfamily-friendlyâ policy is an absolute sham, and their staff, along with the Bangor TSA, showed a complete lack of compassion, professionalism, or basic human decency. My daughter, who was recovering from a recent C-section with an open wound, was traveling with her three-year-old son and newborn baby girl. We were explicitly told by Breeze that she would receive assistance with her carry-on bags and navigating the airport due to her medical condition and the challenges of traveling with two small children. Instead, she was met with outright refusal and hostility. When she asked for help with her bags, the Breeze staff flat-out said, âAbsolutely not!â They forced her to carry everything herselfâthree bags, a collapsing stroller, a newborn in her arms, and her toddlerâs handâwhile still recovering from major surgery. This is not just negligence; itâs cruelty. To make matters worse, the Breeze crew made her experience even more grueling by forcing her to move gate straps and take a longer route, adding unnecessary strain to an already overwhelming situation. Not a single staff member offered to help, even when she pleaded for assistance while boarding. She was left to juggle her newborn, her toddler, her bags, and a collapsing stroller all on her own, with no support from the crew. This is a far cry from Breezeâs promise to âmake exceptions for travelers with children and offer support and assistance when needed.â What a blatant lie! The Bangor TSA was equally deplorable. They rummaged through every single item in her diaper bag, treating her like a criminal, and forced her to throw away essential items for her children. This left my grandchildren upset and my daughter humiliated and stressed beyond belief. The lack of empathy from both TSA and Breeze Airways staff was utterly shameful. Breeze Airways, you failed my daughter and my grandchildren in every possible way. Your staff on Flight 253 and the Bangor TSA should be ashamed of their callous behavior. You are not a family-friendly airlineâyou are a disgrace. I will never fly with Breeze again, and I urge every parent and traveler to avoid this airline at all costs. Do better, or better yet, live up to the promises you make to vulnerable travelers like my daughter....
Read moreWe flew Alligiant, One star!! â. Alligiant was a terrible vendor. They should be kicked out!
While going through security we were denied access and told we needed to check an item as it wouldn't be able to come into the plane. So we left security, went down to the ticketing desk to pay for a checked bag. But surprise... no one who worked for Alligiant was at the counter!
United told us that Alligiant didn't have staff and so no one would be available to help us from Alligiant. The United worker called up to the Flight crew and the workers said they wouldn't send anyone to the desk to assist us.
So we now give 5 stars âââââ to the #UNITEDAIRLINES worker. They took care of our family. The worker we spoke to said she would PERSONALLY mail our unchecked item to us!!! Someone who profited zero from our situation mailed our items to us on her own time!
Thank you United. We will be booking with you for our next flight to BGR.
Alligiant was such a cost cutting hack.
On the way up our plane was over sold, they switched aircraft and moved our seats, but only informed half of the passengers. So there were 3 people groups all fighting for the same seats. It made boarding slow and irritating for all the parties who were trying to get on.
A few hours before our return flight we received messages saying Alligiant over booked our flight and needed volunteers to give up their seats. We called for information and an automated recording said our tickets were automatically changed to the next flight! Which was exactly what we needed to avoid!! After being on hold for an extended period of time we were told we could still remain on the same flight and they would simply get other people to give up their seats.
When we got onto the plane at Bangor again our seats were changed. There was absolutely zero leg room. I am 5'8 and my knees were touching the seat in front of me. My feet didn't fit in-between the seat in front of me and my seat and I had to have them on top of my small backpack on the ground and in the isle. The chairs were dreadfully uncomfortable and there was no arm room, and I am a skinny individual! This company has cut all the corners and are making millions in profits. I wouldn't recommend. We got to our destination safe, but the journey was...
Read moreI am an 84 year old woman traveling with my brother who has a hernia and I have spinal stenosis and a torn meniscus. I requested handicapped passenger assistance for both of us.
When I arrived at the airport, my driver brought everything inside the terminal and found someone who brought us two wheelchairs.
THIS IS WHERE THE BGR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FAILED US:
Instead of helping us bring our baggage to the counter, we were left to balance our carryons on the wheelchairs, ourselves, and somehow make our way to the American Airlines counter, on our own.
{It made me wonder if the old, handicapped people who live in Maine are so tough that they can do everything themselves, and I am just a white-haired wimp who lets debilitating pain slow me down.}
Once we got past the American Airlines counter, we were assigned employees to push us in our wheelchairs to the TSA checkpoints and the terminal.
While I went through the first checkpoint and moved to the second station, my brother, who was sitting with our sick dog in his lap inside her crate, was detained.
Someone from the first checkpoint came over to me at the second checkpoint and asked me to take the dog out of the crate. The second checkpoint, hearing this, wouldnât allow me to leave my position, and it took another 20 minutes before someone at the first checkpoint realized that they could actually bring the dog to me, and expedite the process.
At this point, I was able to take my dog out of the crate, and the crate was inspected within a minute. The wheelchair helpers helped us load our carryons back on the wheelchairs, and raced us to the Terminal⌠where our airplane had already departed!!
To make a long story short, a trip that had one connecting flight and should have taken 8 hours, became a nightmare that required two connecting flights and took us 13 hours!! Sitting in one place all those hours wearing a body brace and a knee brace made my pain unbearable and I was incapacitated for three days after this debacle.
WHATâS WRONG WITH THIS...
