Midwest Ace — Local services in Bath Charter Township

When possible, I like to support local business by going to brick and mortar stores rather than buying online. In that spirit I called Ace Hardware / Midwest Power to see if they had a gasket for my small honda push mower. They said they had one in stock, so I drove out to pick it up. Upon arriving at the store, it turns out they did not have the gasket. No apology was offered, but they did offer to order me the part which I agreed to. They took my name and number, as well as the part number and said it would take a few business days. I called back a week later and had to leave a voicemail. No response was given. My grass now being knee deep I ordered from Amazon, got the part the next day, fixed the mower and finished the job the day after that. Just out of curiosity I tried calling another week after that and left yet another message. We are now 4 weeks from ordering the part and leaving 2 voicemails with no response. Loyal customer to this store, I’ve bought all my Benjamin Moore paint here and have always enjoyed coming in. Took some paint home and it turned completely different than what I sampled in the store, took it back in to try to get an exchange or return but the manager immediately said no with no remorse. I would have been happy with a discount on a new gallon or even just some respect/care for my home project. They didn’t try to make it right or offer a solution. I was going to this store instead of Home Depot but it looks like I’ll take my $1,000+ of paint sales, among other projects, somewhere else.
