Route 66 True Value — Local services in Baxter Springs

I pretty much have never bought anything here because prices are insane on pretty much everything compared to anywhere else. I finally caved this last time and just got what I found and then it turns out you have a "convenience" fee for paying with cards. Staff was friendly and helpful but I can assure you that I will not be returning if that's how much more I have to pay to support local businesses and I'm really trying to make an effort not to shop at Walmart and Amazon... just not worth it here...

Went in to buy a half inch socket because I lost my old one. The guy working behind the counter points me to where the sockets would be and say we probably don’t have any but that’s where they would be. Not a big deal. Then he says to the other person working, “I don’t know why someone would come to a job and not bring tools” Well, why have a hardware store and not have any tools to sell? Very disappointed in the customer service. I took my business to the O’reillys...

Hmm, let’s close our store when everyone else is getting off work and not increase our profit. Really guys? 5 o’clock every day?!! Well, I guess it’s off to Lowe’s to spend our money. Horrible managerial decision Baxter hardware. Just a little suggestion, like All other hardware stores, at least stay open to, if not 9 maybe 8 or 7. Giving the majority of us who work during the day time to come...
