It is an incredibly beautiful park, surrounded by a hideous and unkept park and commercial. The font for the business notions is as large as what it’s donated for. Kinda feels like walking through a commercial. After leaving I remember most of the brands that donated but couldn’t remember a single veterans name. There’s two funeral homes in the area making a killing, it would be no skin off their teeth to maintain or donate real flowers. Fake flowers!?! The parks problems areas are a general unkemptness. Equipment lays out. The area needs a sweeping. Brass needs to be shined. The veteran park itself is mostly beautiful outside tatter, and discolored flags. The purple hear flag appears to be the most damage. IAnd standing at the flag park you can see that Local VFW flags are also worn and torn. The marine flag fading from red to pink. Cobwebs grow on the statues and monuments in the park. Fancy a walk? Well if you follow the path along the park you find yourself at the veteran memorial bridge at the end of town. The underside of the bridge is tagged up generations and decades of disrespects. It’s a beautiful park, now what if the whole city was invested in the way the veteran park is? Wouldn’t it be nice to have a usable tennis court? Instead of one that looks like it survived an earthquake? Wouldn’t it be nice if the weeds were trimmed at the park? If the skate park wasn’t tagged up with the same bad art as the bridge? It’s a weird sight to see so much to be proud of surrounded by so...
