Leppinks Food Centers — Local services in Belding

I went shopping at leppinks tonight and had a very very poor experience there and this is not the first time. Their people that work there let me stand in line for over a half an hour waiting for some woman to decide that her car did not have enough money on it and so she went out to transfer money into her account... While the employees let me stand in line waiting and waiting until this girl came back.... They also opened another register and offered the person behind me to check out while leaving me standing there waiting....finally telling me that they could not cancel her order they had to wait for her to come back to pay for her things.... She had about $11 worth of merchandise and I think I had over $50 in merchandise.... I worked in retail for over 25 years and never ever treated any of my customers like that... I have been a customer before and have never been treated like that... I have had two poor experiences leppinks... Because they hire people that cannot do their jobs properly. I'm talking about ... number one they should have asked me before they talk to the person behind me to see if I wanted to check out in that opening Lane. When I talked to the manager she was not sympathetic, she was rude. I will be spending my money at places where they appreciate my business. And my family and friends will...

Cool little hometown store with homemade treats, ice cream shop, and cool food products you won't find at your local big box stores. My only suggestion for improvement would be to get more items in the store. It had a lot of open and unused space that's not being used to its fullest potential. There's plenty of room to put out more merchandise. I see potential to make more capital which could then, be invested right back into the store, but the space is currently being wasted. However, that's not a complaint, just a business suggestion as I don't know their history so there could be an explanation for this (like they just opened, or they're closing, or they are going...

Getting really frustrated about the moldy and spoiled food that we buy fresh. Yes we have gone back and returned it, but I'm getting tired of having to do it every other shopping trip. This place is $2-3more expensive than going to Greenville to Meijer or Walmart but it's right in town so we like the convenience. But we've tossed out lots of refrigerated cheese, frozen fish, refrigerated pasta because it's either moldy or smells or obvious use by date is past.
