I’ve been a tenant here for over three years and have always paid rent on time and been patient through multiple disruptions — including a full siding replacement project that caused months of noise and disturbance last summer. However, the way management has handled the current situation in my unit has been completely unacceptable and unsafe.
After water damage occurred, repairs have dragged on for weeks with no clear timeline, updates, or communication from the property management or leasing office. For more than 10 consecutive days, large industrial fans have been running nonstop inside my apartment, blowing fiberglass insulation and debris throughout my home. This has made the space unlivable and caused irritation to my eyes and lungs.
To make matters worse, the smoke detector in my bedroom — the area where I spend most of my time — was removed during the repair process and has still not been replaced after repeated requests. That’s a serious fire safety issue that should never be ignored.
To be clear, the maintenance technician (Steve) has been doing an excellent job with what he can control. He’s professional, communicative, and clearly doing his best. The real issue is the complete lack of response and accountability from management. My emails to the property and leasing office have gone unanswered for weeks, and no one has provided updates, documentation, or assistance despite multiple follow-ups.
The roof repair above my unit appears to be a short-term patch using a tar-like substance, which based on my research typically lasts only 6–12 months. This does not appear to be a permanent or professional fix, and I’m concerned about future leaks and potential structural damage. When the insulation was removed, it was visibly covered in mold and mildew — yet no professional remediation or air-quality testing has been done.
During this time, I’ve had to stay elsewhere because the apartment is unsafe to occupy, yet management has offered no reimbursement, rent reduction, or assistance for temporary housing or meals. The constantly running fans have also increased my electric bill, and my request for reimbursement has been ignored.
I’ve asked management for the following reasonable items: – A clear repair timeline and communication from management – Proof of asbestos testing before drywall removal (as required by law) – Reimbursement for electrical costs caused by the drying fans – Temporary housing or prorated rent for displacement – Replacement or cleaning of belongings damaged by fiberglass and debris – Immediate replacement of the missing bedroom smoke detector
None of these issues have been acknowledged or resolved. The silence from the leasing and property management offices has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional.
After three years of being a reliable tenant and enduring multiple construction disruptions, I no longer feel comfortable or safe continuing to rent here. Given my experience, I would personally rather live elsewhere — even in a van — than recommend leasing here.
If you’re considering moving in, please be aware that while the on-site maintenance staff may do their best, you’ll likely be met with complete silence and inaction from management when serious safety or maintenance issues arise.
Photos attached show the removed insulation (covered in mold and mildew), the industrial fans that have been running for 10+ days, and the temporary tar patch used to “repair” the roof. I truly hope management takes responsibility and corrects these issues before another tenant has to go...
Read moreLocation? Awesome, but that's about it. Black mold, failing pipes/flooding (like 4 times in the 7 or 8 years I lived there). "Repairs" performed are not very good, regular maintenance or post flood stuff. After a total flood of my unit and move out temporarily, the place was "redone" to very low standards. Drywall was put up over insulation with black mold, painting/mudding over black mold, drywall "repairs" were terrible (lacking paint/mud, screws still exposed, tape exposed/painted over, gaps/damaged drywall installed). I moved back in for a couple of months (I had lived in a hotel for about a month while they drug their feet on repairs, refused to contact me or update me. It was terrible). They tried to get MY insurance to cover their faulty water lines and the repairs to their building. Their workers damaged a lot of my personal stuff too. And I did not get my deposit back or money for the time they had the unit occupied on the last month of my lease, per their contract. It wasn't worth pursuing with the deflection of responsibility. I would not...
Read moreI recently moved into Bellevue One Condo Apartments, managed by ICON Real Estate Services, INC., and I’ve been really happy with the experience so far. Tania Magana, the property manager, made the whole move-in process super easy. She was always available to answer questions, helped with all the paperwork, and quickly took care of any initial hiccups. Her support made me feel really welcomed here. If you’re looking for a place where the management genuinely cares, I’d definitely recommend ICON Real Estate and...
