This is a hard one for me since I think this place could be amazing, and it has all the right pieces for it to be. The interactive games themselves are fantastic, but there are glaring issues with the place as a whole that I don’t see many others talking about in the reviews. Right now as it stands; this is more of a one and done event rather than a place I would go to consistently which is a shame.
Pros: Very fun and as advertised games Welcoming staff Really clean Wide variety of game types
Cons: While there are many cons, most of them are extremely fixable and small, but they all add up to sour the experience.
The tutorial: we were required to do a tutorial where a staff member took us to each room to try one game (of which there are several games in each room). While this was nice to see all the types of games, it ate a third of our reservation time which felt like we were cheated out of some time.
The pricing/time aspect. As of this review, the pricing was near 40 bucks a person after tax for an hour which is certainly reasonable for such a unique experience in Seattle. However, the way it was timed felt odd, especially when comparing similar arcades as this one to ones in nyc and other locations. The problem was every person in our 7 person party had to scan into each room, and we had to redo that each time we failed a game which wasted a lot of time, especially since some of the machines weren’t registering our names upon first try. I imagine we wasted a good 10 minutes this way which was already cut a bit short by the tutorial in the first place.
The description of certain games were not well explained. This could be user error, but one of the games, I believe was called “[something] dash” took us just several tries to figure out how to play it which is frustrating since after when figured it out, it was our favorite.
Lack of description of games before entering the establishment. As of this review, the website is not fully functional, and as new-comers and potentially repeat customers, this felt extremely bad. The reason being: we came in with a group of 7, but half the rooms are designed with 4/5 players in mind. Nowhere on the website was this conveyed to my knowledge. We ended up splitting up into two smaller groups which was fine, but it would have been nice to have known that beforehand.
Potential fixes: Just make the tutorial time not eat into the reservation time.
I’ve seen other similar arcades just have the time only tick down upon signing into a game room when we are actively playing instead of what it currently is (a constant timer).
Maybe include a visual to describe the game and/or revamp the descriptions.
Finish the website to include descriptions of the games, and make clear how many players can play each game. As it stands right now, you can currently have 15 people signed up for a reservation, but realistically, they have to be split up into groups of 4/5. There are also games that are technically large group games (like 8 people), but they don’t work (in my opinion) since there are only 5 lives per game and with a big group it’s hard to tell who messed up and it’s easy to instantly lose.
Conclusion: I want to love this place, but there is too many little annoying things about it that stop me from coming back. This is a newer establishment, so I hope to return in the future to see improvements. This has a lot of potential and if the issues are worked out, this could...
Read moreStrap in and prepare for launch C.H.E Arcade is a true interstellar playground, a cosmic gem where the future of fun blasts off right before your eyes. From the moment you step through its sleek, futuristic doors [Caveat: One moment I’m confidently striding through and the next I’m airborne, courtesy of a force that sent me soaring like Mary Poppins on a particularly boisterous gust. Clearly, the door wasn’t just inviting entry, it was throwing its weight around in a most theatrical fashion!] greeted with an ambiance that’s less arcade and more astrocade. Think neon nebulae meeting cutting-edge gaming wizardry. Every room feels like a boarding chamber aboard a starship, where every joystick is your ticket to a galaxy of thrills.
The design is positively astronomical, minimalist yet mind-blowing, it’s as if the architects harnessed a supernova to fuel every corner of this innovative space. With attractions that are light-years ahead of the norm, you’re not just playing games here, you’re embarking on a voyage through an arcade universe where even the classics get a cosmic twist.
In short, if you’re ready to leave Earth behind and experience gaming in orbit, C.H.E Arcade is your launch pad to a pun-packed, out-of-this-world adventure that’s truly stellar. Don’t be a space cadet, this is one mission you simply...
Read moreNow this is what I call a hidden underrated GEM! Pulled up to the parking lot and saw the black door (note they are kind of in a weird area but there’s lots of parking available). Went in with all my friends and it was the coolest thing ever! It was like walking into a whole different world. Very cool vibes, neon lights, and very techno. We reserved this online and they immediately helped us, the staff was amazing at explaining how each game works. So there are 8 rooms in total and each room has 4-6 games with an easy to difficult round. My personal favorite was the room where you had to step on the blue tiles or the room where there were baseballs and you had to hit it at the target. Overall great experience and the girl named yang was amazing! She helped us with the vending machines, she even offered us some jelly beans that were available at the front desk and some candy! We even got to take home some cute miniature toys. Amazing place 100000/10. Perfect for a date night, family night, or a hangout...
