I stopped in to Kitchen & Market for the first time on election day. I had driven past the former Big Fish Grill for years wondering what would replace it. Then one day boom, Kitchen & Market appeared. I drive by it frequently but often during times when the traffic on Bellevue Way and Northrup Way are bumper to bumper.
Once inside I spent a good 25 minutes perusing their house made breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner options. The store is organized so well (it seriously makes me so happy) and the product options appear to all be top tier.
For folks who have lived or visited the south, Kitchen & Market is a more compact version of Eatzi's. Eatzi's is a TX based chef driven, eat in and take away food emporium where everything is made in-house. I frequented the Eatzi's in Atlanta before it closed and I moved here.
Kitchen & Market features mix and match mains, sides, salads, dressings, sauces, noodles (hot and cold) and so much more in their fridge cases. But what I'm most intrigued to try? The meal kits! Most of the time I need to feed myself. My kids are grown and quite frankly, while I love good food, I am burnt out from "cooking because we need dinner".
Many of the meal kits were sold out when I stopped in around 7pm, unfortunately, so get there earlier than I did! I did pick up a chicken caesar salad from their fridge case and mac and cheese from their freezer case. Make sure to check out the freezer section located in the the far left back of the store. Tons of options there like chicken fingers, mac and cheese and so much more that I can't even remember them all.
I also picked up snack things like olive tapenade, cheese, a bottle of Cab and other small things. All had good flavor and were gone that night which never happens.
If you haven't visited Kitchen & Market, go. The folks inside are lovely and happy to help you find what you're looking for. If you're exhausted from being on the "what is for dinner" hamster wheel like I am -this...
Read moreThere's no mistaking this beautiful shop as a grocery store. While most grocery stores also offer many ready to eat options and meal kits, what Kitchen & Market offers is closer to restaurant quality dinners with at home convenience.
Feel like eating Italian food but don't want to drag the whole family in traffic to Tavolàta? You can grab a container of Ethan Stowell's Bolognese sauce and fresh made pasta and cheese from the case. There are different packaged dinner kits that serve 3-4 that cover various cuisines.
In the refrigerated case you'll find many different salads, overnight oats, chia puddings that aren't offered anywhere else. Also prepped food like spatchcock chicken or mainated chicken that are ready to go on the grill or in the oven.
In their baking aisle i found their private labeled mix for scones and biscuits. I tend to bake from scratch most of the time but who can resist a delicious scone or biscuit that can come together in minutes?
I will update this review after making what i brought home...
Read moreWhat an amazing addition to the area! For a small store, they offer a great variety of drinks and food, plus convenient meal kits that are super easy to prepare and can feed up to four. The desserts are phenomenal! We’ve tried the panna cotta and tiramisu, and both were excellent. There’s even a small selection of fresh produce.
The cafe serves Armistice Coffee, an amazing local roaster, and the entire space- both the store and cafe is bright, clean, and well organized. You can find just about anything you need to make a quick, quality meal.
I highly recommend this place and hope it sticks around for a long time. Some have mentioned the prices being a bit higher than average, which is true—it’s comparable to Met Market. But the convenience, quality, and outstanding customer service make it...
