An honest review. I’m currently a student in cosmetology school. I found lbh artistry from a friend who got certified through them. And decided to go through them. Honestly they were a couple hundred cheaper than most places so I was trying to save a penny being in school but hey that was my first red flag I ignored. I bought the volume and classic combo class so I can just get in finished in one go.
First impression room is small but cute and four tables for the “class”.. I was greeted by Arlene who was working the front desk. Signed in where she went over a paper I had to sign to agree to adhere to state laws blah blah blah.
Arlene starts the class and literally reads word for word from a manual and talked so fast that I could barely understand her. We started the class at 1015ish. Read from a manual they created and some guidelines you could find online if you really did your research ahead of time. They fail to mention to you in the class that you have to be licensed with an esthetician’s or cosmetology license to ever do lashes legally In The state of California. They make it seem like it a a career anyone can just pick up and do out of their garage with just the piece of paper stating they trained us how to do it. We finished with classic training by 1:00 we were able to put about three lashes on a doll head before we were let out by lunch. 45 min layer we came back and started out the volume class in how to make fans. Took me a while to figure it out because I couldn’t understand what Maria was explaining.
Finally I started doing things my own way from how I saw on tutorials and was making good fans but every time I tried the way she taught me I couldn’t make them. The last half of class we practiced making fans and putting them on a dollhead. I felt like there was no technique or guidance just don’t put the base of the extension the lid and that’s what I go out of it everything else I learned more watching a YouTube video.
The end of the day, I left and forgot my volume training manual, it wasn’t with the rest of my things. Either one of the girls took it or I left it. I contacted them back and their response was sorry it’s your loss. Not a “let me look” or come in and we can replace the lost manual or even a I can make a copy Of the one we have for your records.” After I complained the manager sent me screen shots of the camera of me leaving but said she wasn’t able to confirm if I had the manual or not. Not even 24hours after I left and they were already done with me.
As someone who wants to run a successful business overall unsatisfied with the professionalism, for 700$ I expected way more out of the class, the Principle of respect for a misplaced/ lost or stolen item. The lack of customer empathy and care was a enough for me to not recommend this place to future professionals. They should have an honest opinion and know what they are getting into when they drop large sums of money on a class to get certified in a profession. For me is just recognition of education beyond schooling for special skills ... though I can’t legally perform this service at the moment I will be able to once I pass state board.
I’ll give them a star for the convenience of having a store to sell lash supplies. And good instagram promotions. I hope in the future they treat their clients...
Read moreI took a classic lash extension training class at LBH Artistry. I paid about $500. But for that price and the content I received and the training I honestly do not think it is worth it. I mean I learned the proper application of classic lashes, taking them off etc. But what I did not learn and had to learn through videos online etc was how to tape the eye so I can put lashes on inner corners, or what an unhealthy lash looks like, I mean are there many ways a lash can be unhealthy or just one?, and a couple of other things they did not go over but I realized once the class was already over. I had written down a couple of questions and they answered them but for a 1 day training, you know most likely you'll pop up with more later. Also, when we opened the kit I was disappointed on the little bit of items they give us to start off. I get it they want to make their money but don't be cheap either. I took a microblading class before and they literally gave up enough supplies to start off with about 30 clients. And they tell you were to buy everything besides them having to sell it to you like LBH Artistry does. I know microblading is more expensive but my experience was completely different. They filled me up with knowledge and alot of practice. And alot of supply to start off. Lbh Artistry gave us some of the cheapest supplys like the most inexpensive lash wands etc. And a small pack too..i think that was my worst disappointment, youre better off learning it online and for a cheaper price. I'm sorry for this review but I hope LBH Artistry changes the way they're doing things. Also they had stated class started at around 10am i believe and ended at 6pm. Well it ended at 4pm that's how early we finished. I give them props for providing...
Read moreI purchased some eyelash glue (2 bottles of the 5ml King adhesive glue) from this company. this product is suppose the dry quickly. I had so much trouble with this product. I bought this product to save time as well as create lasting retention time for my last client. beside the claim that this production is supposed to dry quick and is much better than the queen glue, how about it didn't even stick well enough to even dry at all. mind you my humidifier was up and running wonderfully. I had to resort to using my last bottle of the queen glue. the queen glue didn't dry quickly but at least it stuck well enough to my clients lashes. their king glue was more trouble than it was worth and didn't make a pleasant experience for my client. this company does allow returns or exchanges which I think is bad business. I will not be purchasing any more eyelashing products from...
