Belmont Alterations — Local services in Belmont

On Fri Feb 25th I took 3 garments to Belmont Alterations. (1) Bebe jumpsuit-new (hem) (2) Ann Taylor blouse -new (take in) (3) Ralph Lauren raincoat (shorten sleeves). I need the jumpsuit and blouse for an April wedding. There was no rush.

The items were ready on Mon Feb 28th. I tried on the items when I got home. (1)The hem on the jumpsuit is uneven and thread/hem extremely visible. There was also a needle with white thread left in garment. (2) The blouse was so tight it was hard to get over my head. The seam was originally run on the outside, material cut, then folded over and re-sewn. Too much material was cut and blouse is unsalvageable. (3) lining of raincoat is loose, not tailored with the material.

The purchase price of the blouse was $28 and the price to fix the pants is $25. The alterations cost $75. I put a stop payment on the check. Belmont Alterations offered to look at the items, but there is not enough material to fix the blouse. I also do not feel comfortable with the skill set.

I was leaving to Alaska on short notice, to an area where the average Temps are -15°F.....VERY COLD!!!

Without hesitation, she replaced an entire zipper system and sewed up the side of a wet weather top that was basically useless until she worked on it.

She completely understood my hurry and didn't even charge for having it done immediately!

I am deeply impressed with her professionalism and Customer Service.

Sadly, though, I'm afraid her business will not last too much longer, as her prices were so low, I can't imagine that she is able to turn a profit......either way, I wish the world was filled with more people like this...a hard worker who focuses on the final product and customer satisfaction.

As I live an hour away and this business just happened to be on my way, I normally wouldn't imagine coming back for any work I need done.

But because the Final Product was so Impressive, coupled with the Professionalism and Satisfaction, you can bet your bottom dollar that I WILL be driving the hour AND back again for this High Quality!!!

My daughter and I had looked around for someone to make alterations to customized dresses we ordered online. We had been given outrageous pricing from other Vendors and also told by one Vendor that they could not do the alterations.

Thank God we found Kara at Belmont Alterations!!!! Not only did she do everything I needed done on My dress, she made it look, feel, and fit just like I wanted it to. In addition to that, her pricing was a FRACTION of the other quotes I received and she finished so QUICKLY I was shocked. I sent My daughter to her and will send My son tomorrow to get alterations on a shirt that he needs done.
