We tried to see the Rodeo during the fair. I was a pro-rodeo bullfighter in the past and have yet to take my 10 year old son to see a rodeo. Needless to say, it's been a while since I saw a rodeo from the fan's perspective and I was interested to see how it was.
I took my wife and our boys to the ticket booth. They told me all they had left were bleacher seats. I bought the tickets for $8.00 a piece. They failed to tell me that the bleachers didn't even overlook the actual arena. Further, when we arrived to go in they told us that those bleachers were full, but we could go to a set of bleachers further away and watch the event on a screen. I was not pleased with having paid so much for a ticket to see a live event and to be told that my family could watch it on a screen.
I went over to the sales booth and they rudely told me that I had been informed that the bleachers did not face the event and that there were no refunds. I argued that I bought the tickets in good faith under the impression that my family and I would be able to see the event live. I further advised that I was not advised that the bleachers did not face the arena nor could I ever imagine that the event would have to be seen on a screen. They told me that they had advised me and that there were no refunds. They continued to rudely tell me that I could sell the tickets at face value to someone else. I could not believe their lack of professionalism and their lack of understanding.
I sold three out if four tickets and had to literally throw $8.00 in the trash since I couldn't sell the fourth. For an event that is over seen by elected officials, I don't think it's a good idea to allow such business practices to continue. I will not ever return to a Boone County event and I sure hope what I experienced was not similar to other fan's experiences while I was on...
Read moreFirst time at the Fair this year. I took my daughter twice on the second visit I took my 92 year old Mama to specifically go and see the Horses. She and I LOVE Horses 🐎 my Mama has a walker which one of the ladies noticed and offered us to borrow a wheelchair but they were out of her gesture was sweet. I think the variety of food could be a bit healthier but overall we had a very good time just walking around enjoying the weather and appreciating all of the animals. And to whoever owns this Horse Lester he totally made our day. He definitely made a connection with us and went out of his way to get my Mama’s attention as she was walking away I wish I would had caught on video but I was so surprised and trying to get my Mama to turn around and see and to pet him that I forgot. I’m happy that I was able to at least get this photo. ❤️ If your the owner of Lester and your reading this we LOVE him please take good care of him he will forever be in our hearts he is super sweet and gentle....
Read more8/13/2022. Went here with family and the admission prices were great. Kids were free. But this is the exact spot where the thrill ends. From here on out everything was overpriced, jam-packed with people and overall just no enjoyment. I was here for 1 hour, got my 2 adults admission tickets ($16) 8 Cheese Nuggets ($11) 2 small strawberry smooties ($12) a single bottle of water ($4) 20 tickets ($20) 2 small huggy wuggy toys ($30) a cheap sword built on an island in the pacific ($10) A grand total of over $100 to go on 1 ride with my children and buy small edible items and small toys. With the way our economy is and inflation, you would think a business operated like this would accommodate such things. Not raise prices! $4 for a bottle of water?!? Was it stolen from an Eskimo? Cause I can go buy a 24pk of water for 2.99 at schnucks... I will never be going back to this place. Definitely do NOT recommend for anyone unless you plan to bring an entire...
