I took my daughter and her friend there to go buy some fudge about a month ago. As soon as we walked in the Lady behind the counter just started giving us a scowling look. We were not in there for more then a minuet and she was giving my daughter and her friend a death stare as they looked at the fudge. So much so that they just wanted to quickly pick something out so that they could leave. As I handed my debit card to pay for the fudge, she got upset at me and asked if I had anything else. I told her I didn't have cash on me but could buy more fudge since I know credit card could take a percentage of the sale. She didn't say anything, she just snatched my card, processed the order and didn't say anything else to us. We didn't do anything to provoke this type of action, it was almost as if she immediately didn't like who we were based on our appearance. I would not recommend this place to anyone, no matter if their fudge is good or not. I get that people have good days and bad days, but this type of action seemed more personal to...
Read moreStopped in for some ice cream after hiking. I’m all about the experience, to me it’s just as important as the goods the shop has to offer. The ice cream was good, I mean it’s ice cream, but we didn’t try anything else. The workers were very rude and made it a very unpleasant experience. I asked to try one of the flavors, I mean what ice cream or fudge shop doesn’t offer samples? The lady was not happy about that and gave me the wrong sample (I realized it didn’t taste anything like what I requested and my bf pointed out it was a different flavor) then fussed at me when he pointed it out and argued I said the wrong thing. And by arguing I mean that I stood there in shock while she scolded me and repeatedly said I asked for that flavor. She grabs my sample spoon (I had already eaten off of) and slaps another sample on the same spoon. Unsanitary. So immediately after trying the sample she barks “what do you want”. The man I paid wasn’t any friendlier. Overall everything at least looked good but I’ll...
Read moreThe staff was not friendly. My girlfriend and I were in Berea after a day of hiking in the Pinnacles. She wanted an ice cream so we decided to stop at Berea Fudge Shop. The lady behind the counter was very unwelcoming and asked us "what do you want?", while staying seated in her chair behind the counter. After asking to try one of their ice creams before we decided, she seemed irritated that we asked for a sample. We didn't feel wanted after she rushed us and asked "what do you want?" for the 2nd time. I chose cookies n cream to just get out of the uncomfortable situation. She then asked my 27-yr-old girlfriend "and what do you want little girl?". We were both shocked that she said that and looked behind us to see if she was talking to someone else. She asked my girlfriend again. We politely said this will be it, paid the unhappy man behind the counter and left quickly. We were both in awe of how both staff members acted. We would not recommend this place and will...
