After reading some recent reviews of this place, confirmed my curiosity as to whether or not the place has changed in the two years since I worked there. Seems not. So here's a little behind the scenes about the manager Mitch who is still around by the reviews I read. His favorite thing is to watch people get frustrated by arriving to find out they can't get notary service after all. He does it on purpose because, as he said to me directly, "it's great to watch people get worked up." Alot of the time he really would be there, watching the cameras as he'd tell me to tell the customer he wasn't there.
I can't say for certain his old backroom lack of organization is still there, but from the recent reviews I have a guess that it might be. While I was working there the P.O. boxes were marked by either old outdated labels, had no labels, or in a few boxes the names are accidentally switched with the box next it. No one cared to take the time to update the labels, and when I volunteered to do it after hours I was told no, with an add on that if I suggested that again I would be let go. Packages that are set aside to be picked up had no real organization either. Boxes were organized by how big or heavy they were and stacked against the wall accordingly. Grouping by names and numbers were put second in importance.
If your a friend of Mitch's reading this, or a customer that he actually likes enough on a personal level to want to give special treatment, I either think you have a bias towards him or are unaware that he's not a great manager. Convenience is not a factor because there is a great Fed Ex store right across the street from that UPS. I got in trouble for using it once because the prices were better, Mitch told me that I was "pushing his...
Read moreWorst location ever. Bad customer service, I walked in and received no help, not even an acknowledgement that a customer has walked in. Asked about prices for the boxes for an entire minute, mind you, no one has still acknowledged me. Asked about 2 to 3 times with no response even looked towards the back where the Asian man who I am assuming is the manager still not acknowledging a customer there. Again, there were 3 people working, two males, one female, the female was helping one other customer which is understandable for her. But the other two which includes the Asian man, still did not bother to help me as I figured I would wall out with these boxes in my hand for free. I got to my car that was double parked out front, the Asian guy finally comes outside saying "can I help you with something?" I said are these boxes free, he said no with a facial expression as if I was trying to steal. I laughed a little, and said well i was standing there asking for help yet no one acknowledged me so I said hey they dont acknowledge me, I'm leaving. But of course, im not going to be a ratchet person to UPS because it isn't their fault, they hired a poor manager that seems he has it down but not really, then as a manager hired others with the same work ethic as his. Luckily I did not go to corporate, but UPS Corporate should definitely look into hiring better managers for a more effective team that will represent the UPS brand and company. Otherwise, don't hire idiots. Thanks for allowing my review in hope it helps answer some questions or concerns of many others that have experienced or are going to experience the UPS store here on...
Read moreThis place is the worst and I only use it if for some reason I HAVE to. Other than that, I will always use the FedEx place around the corner. Usually it’s staffed with substandard employees with the worst manners and odd sub-par social skills. I think the last time I went just to drop off an Amazon return which should be really simple right? When I asked to use their tape to seal up the small box the employee tells me that will cost me $12 dollars….for a free drop off of a 8x4x2 box which only needs two strips of packaging tape?!?! So then I ask how can that be, and she says, “it’s probably punishment for not following directions”. Ok, so I just take my box to the FedEx store and borrow some tape, which they were happy to provide with no problems and return to the UPS store where the employee then says….”oh, I forgot to mention that you really weren’t required to tape up the box, that one was exempt”. The only thing that makes this even a tiny bit tolerable is that I wasn't there to spend money but just to drop off a package. This store makes even the simplest tasks a ridiculous and tedious inconvenience. I also saw once when another customer reached for the tape gun on the counter and the employee grabbed it like a 5 year old protecting his toys and yelled, “Hey! That’s mine!”…it was so cringy. The customer asked what the problem was and the employee says it was the “Owners policy”…if it was, then I guess the fish really does rot...
