One really cannot speak highly enough of cool coffee, it is more than a coffee it is a way of life, and for generations of locals it has been the local hang where people come out to see and be seen, and visit with friends especially on Saturday and Sunday mornings and sometimes hundreds of locals will hang out Milling around and having friendly conversations with one another. Recent crackdowns on homeless, or rather recent backgrounds caused by homeless, have resulted in the removal of the benches that were across the street in front of the produce market which made things so much nicer where you can sit in the shade, but, that's life. This is some of the strongest, best food, most curated coffee in Northern California and the man himself, Cole, bought this business from Royal coffee back in the day, and has maintained an absolutely rabbit and loyal following ever since, the likes of...

Cole Coffee is hands-down my favorite local coffee shop and I consider being able to walk here a few times a week a huge perk of living in the neighborhood! The coffee is consistently amazing, and while prices have increased slightly, I love that I can still get a strong coffee and a scone for around $8. The vibe is perfect for getting work done; I’ve had some of my most productive sessions here, fueled by caffeine and the low-key entertainment of people-watching and eavesdropping on fascinating conversations.

There’s always a good spot to sit, the customer service is genuinely kind, and there are plenty of outlets to keep you powered up. While there’s no WiFi, that’s never been an issue for me since I use my hotspot—and honestly, the lack of WiFi just adds to the unpretentious atmosphere and interesting conversations/gatherings. Wanted to grab some coffee before catching Bart. An open parking space! Yay. Now do we choose Peet's, Philz or Cole's? Let's go with the independent......shop small. And no line this morning. Sweet, right? We walk in and there are 2 Baristas. Neither acknowledge us. We wait and wait and wait. I finally interrupt them and blurt our "two small coffees to go please".There was not smile....not a sorry we didn't see you your kinda invisible today. You could have had 5 stars and i would have gladly waited another few minutes if you just said "Hi, I'll be right with you"....
