I've been there two years in a row now, 2012 and 2013 in September when I go work the Delaware Fair. Just straight down highway 36, very easy to get to both the campsite and the fair. It's usually the cusp of comfortable to extremely cold weather then, and I use a pup tent, so I froze in 2012, and it was pretty cold last year, too. But the park does its job, keeping the sites as comfortable as weather allows. I love the fire rings and picnic tables, and the electric outlet near the picnic table. I usually plug a lamp in there. It's such a tranquil place that one has to enjoy it, no matter what. One day, I'll get one of those one week fishing licenses and fish, but I'm sure it's fished out for good edible fish. I like to cook on the camp fire, except the wood there is sparse. Just a few slender trees between camp sites, and if you gather wood, it won't be enough for one night. Still, it's great to try. Lots of showers and bathrooms. It can be very dark at night, so bring flashlight and lamp. I always use citronella candles, so I'm not sure if bugs are a problem. Citronella candles keep away mosquitos and chiggers extremely well. I haven't seen the raccoons, but they visited me the first year while I slept and left a loaf of whole wheat bread on the picnic table. Lol. All gone. Saw chipmunks and one kitty cat first year. Nothing second year. Will be back. I would love to see warmer weather once, and drier. Rains a lot there in September. Workers there are friendly and try hard. Place is peaceful...

1st : the campgrounds are really nice and tidy, they just laid new asphalt, they also upgraded the full hookup sites, with new water spigots, and a new concrete pads along side the new asphalt.
2nd : The campsites are spacious, I wish that they had used some of the old asphalt as pads along side the new asphalt as a place for the picnic table and to raise the ground level for when it rains.
3rd : The bath houses clean, and but could use some bug/spider clean up. But that's just me, the showers work and they look updated with tiled walls, but the shower heads are a little low, I am 6'2 , there was plenty of hot water.
4th : The kids play area is in good condition and could use a good raking to level out the gravel around the swings and slides.
5th : The staff were friendly and helpful, and gave out blocks to help prevent damage to the new asphalt.

Read moreCamp area so far seems okay & last night was quiet. However it is Saturday morning and the women's shower house is filfthy. Floors are covered in water (assumed bc of a shower house) but dirt from shoes after walking or sitting on bench area out front makes it very dirty. Not to mention the soap dispenser that seems to be broken and soap is caked (semi liquid) on the floor. No counter space to put your belongings down if you want to brush your teeth. Showerd are not well lit,and there is hair all over the floor. Bring shower shoes, flip flops might not be enough. Water was warm, but know if someone flushes the toilet... pressure is minimized.
I've been to other more crowded campgrounds with better facilities for...
