ATELIER SALON AND SPA — Local services in Bernards Township

I'd leave zero stars if possible.

First, I have taken all 3 of my children to this hair salon. The haircuts are mediocre at best. The salon itself is not clean at all. I actually was debating calling them and telling them that the way they handle their haircutting tools and disinfecting is not to standard and puts people at risk of spreading illness such as skin fungus and bacterial infections. I am in the medical field and am 100% certain of this. Skin fungus, bacteria and even virus' can easily spread if not disinfected and cleaned properly. Fungus' specifically are very hard to get rid of and many people have it on their scalp.

In addition, the owner of the salon is very unpleasant and treats people poorly. I have read several reviews on yelp about him really turning many clients off and about people in the waiting area hearing him commenting about customers in a horrific way, while they are still in the chair. Also, he has been extremely rude to me and yelled at me in front of my young children. They were terrified! I am fairly small and he was extremely aggressive. I along with many other family's will not be returning to this salon. The atmosphere is just not "right" and the people in there have no idea the owner (a grown man) is making fun of them while they trust and support his business. Shame on him!

I recently visited Atelier Salon for highlights, and I can’t recommend them highly enough! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The atmosphere was inviting, and I appreciated how clean and well-organized the space was.

My stylist (Mel) was incredibly professional, taking the time to discuss my desired look and offering expert advice tailored to my hair type and skin tone. They were attentive and made sure I was comfortable throughout the process. The application was precise, and I could tell they genuinely cared about achieving the best results.

The entire team from the front desk people to the owner of the salon were courteous and helpful, making sure I had everything I needed. I left the salon feeling fabulous, with highlights that were beautifully blended and exactly what I wanted. I’ve received so many compliments since!

I just left there after supposedly paying for a full face wax. I was there for over an hour and left with maybe 1/3 of the hair removed. I was placed in a pedicure chair that is really not meant to be comfortable for anyone who was to lift their face up for an hour or I'd imagine for the person who has to do the waxing. I don't think their employee knows what she is doing and it would have been helpful if she just told me that rather than me wasting money and an hour of my life getting incompetent service. If you want something simple like eyebrows they can accommodate you. I then spent 10 min. while they negotiated what to charge me for a shoddy job despite prices already listed on their menu online. When I got in the car the full extent of the slipshod work was evident. I will not being going back there. Employees seem very nice but knowing you did a poor job and still charging someone for it is just unacceptable. I have not used any of their other services so can't comment but this will be my first and last experience...
