The Good: Fries and Fries Zucchini was very good Food was flavorful and hot
The Bad: Not allowed to bring your own water bottles! They asked another table to put them away and when the customer put their water container further away and said “I won’t drink it” the waiter quipped with “They all say that”. Not allowed to dine with a friend who brings their own food due to dietary restrictions. (Some group as above had 7 people and 1 person was asked to not eat their own food) Food took 42 minutes on a Sunday at 12:30. It wasn’t busy. My wife and kids were not happy, and it was supposed to be a nice Father’s Day lunch. Interior is closed to customers, perhaps due to COVID although they said something about remodeling. Bathrooms are closed to customers Beverage selection can’t be seen since it is inside. So you have to ask to peek inside. the Gyro and Chicken Caesar wrap had too much meat, so the proportion was not nice. First table we sat at was a little sticky and dirty, and the second table we sat at was close to their garbage out back and so we smelled that.
I am new to the neighborhood, so this was my first time there. But looking at recent reviews it seems like this restaurant is on a downward trajectory.
Was there a change in ownership or something? I hope they can become a friendlier and welcoming establishment. It will be awhile before...

UPDATE: changing from 2 stars to 1 star. I stopped by the restaurant on a very hot day (there is a heat wave currently) to see if they had a cold drink I could buy. Unfortunately as soon as I walked in, the man working there somehow recognized me and said that my "negative" review directly caused a man to attack him physically. My review (seen above) was very honest, concise and level headed. I could have gone into detail about how the man treated and mocked my mother, but I did not. Many other reviews are much more intense (and deservedly so). I felt threatened being in the restaurant, especially when the man working there came around the counter at me, to point out the guy who supposedly attacked him who happened to be walking outside at the time, and telling me it was my fault. Very uncomfortable, confusing, and outright DISTURBING behavior from the staff. I feel it is my duty, after these horrific experiences, to make sure I inform everyone I know (and I will) what they are getting into when they go to Copper Kettle, in downtown Basking Ridge. Many local residents have had similar...
Read moreUnfortunately I cannot comment on the food but I will not be returning due to the attitude with service. Met some friends here for brunch and our party were the only ones there. There was a dairy allergy in our group and they did not have any non-dairy options for coffee. This person got a coffee from outside with plans for us to still eat breakfast here. The gentleman at the register heard us discussing this and did not say anything indicating this would be an issue. When this person returned with the coffee, we were essentially and rudely told to leave as no outside food is permitted. To be fair, there is a sign outside that states this that we had not noticed. One of the members of our party had used the bathroom during this time. We were forced to buy something before being forced to leave as the bathroom was for customers only. I completely understand the sign and the rules, and have no issue with that. However the way this situation was handled and the way we were treated and spoken to were uncalled for. Upon leaving, we bumped into someone on the street who mentioned they had also been treated with disrespect and no longer frequent this...
