Dollar General — Local services in Birmingham

New guy Ross actually cussed at my 65 yr old wife over not having ID when she went there to buy cigarettes for our neighbor. Next day, today, this delusional boy claimed she was barred from the store and he had yesterday called the police, also that she had sent someone in to make a purchase, which was only the neighbor we were trying to help who had to then go there herself. We filed this complaint with DG Corporation and expect little to be done, as a conscientious Corporation wouldn't hire garbage with an attitude like Ross in the first place. Additionally, yesterday when my wife told Ross he can't talk to her that way he stated in front of a long line of our neighbors there witnessing him yell at her "I'LL TALK TO ANYONE ANY WAY I LIKE !!" We were there on this location's opening day, shopped here 4 times a week, and have leased an apartment 1 block away for 16 years now; everyone knows the DG policy on entering birthdates at the POS for tobacco purchases is to deter the sale of tobacco to minors. This policy is not to empower their latest abusive, cowardly employees to yell and cuss at long-time regular little old ladies, and for Ross to think he's safe around here, behind his little counter talking that way to people's wifes and mothers, is going to quickly get him hurt in this neck of the woods. Update: after this boy Ross cashed out our neighbor who had to go get her items herself, he proceeded to tell her she needed to get her teeth fixed and take a bath. I was on my way to another store & stopped at the Dollar General at Ave H Ensley area, I’ve never been to this location. It certainly was meant for me to stop at this particular Dollar General, due to the fact that I found everything that I had been looking for at several other stores. (not Dollar General stores) Let me get to the best part & that is the CUSTOMER SERVICE, it was OUTSTANDING & worth writing this review! I was helped by a YOUNG lady name Sherrell she was friendly, courteous, kind & very helpful, along with being knowledgeable of her job. The cashier a YOUNG man name Issac was friendly & greeted me with a smile at the register, after paying for my products he said thank you ma’am & have a blessed day. Upon me leaving out the door they both said come back & shop with us again. CUSTOMER SERVICE is very important to me so there was no way that I was leaving this store, without complimenting & encouraging these 2 young people, Sherrell & Issac. There was also no way that I wasn’t going to writing this review. We as people always want to complain, which is fine if we have a problem, but we need to take that same energy & time to COMPLIMENT as well. I will definitely be shopping there again! Dollar General had been 1 of My favorite go to stores for the past 10 years or so, lately for the 4 1/2 to 5 months I've been very disappointed, there's 3 stores in My location & neither seems to have anything I goes in there for, especially the items that I buy a lot of, the shelves are mostly empty; I use to Love to shop @ Dollar General, something has to give; I almost thought the stores was closing due to empty shelves, what I think the problem is, is the Employees who lack in...
