I'm not one to throw superlatives and adverbs around lightly, but they are needed in this case. Absolutely, positively one of the worst, most chaotic, unprofessional, disorganized, and unpleasant estate sales I've ever been to. And I mean ever. I've gone to literally hundreds of sales over the years (three decades and counting), and so this is saying something. Contrary to what other reviews have said, at the sale I went to almost nothing was priced. One man was (apparently) in charge of pricing items on the spot, and there were dozens of people waiting for pricing from the get-go! And when the prices were (finally) stated they were absolutely exorbitant. I mean sky-high, absurd pricing. I overheard two other people near me saying this of their experience getting pricing at the sale, and I definitely concur. I'll give an actual example - I had a stack of maybe eight or nine vintage books, which at ANY OTHER estate sale would be $1, $2, $3, or perhaps $4 each. Maybe $5 each at a higher-priced sale. They were all common titles, in fair shape, but not anything to write home about. Keep in mind that I've been buying and selling antique books for years, I worked for a publishing company, worked in university libraries, and I should know what a fair or unfair price would be. The guy took a picture of the stack, glanced at his phone, and told me they were $20... EACH! Unreal. Absolutely insane. He didn't even look at the titles or condition! And the woman checking people out was completely rude, telling me (condescendingly) that "Sir, there are over 10,000 items here. We can't price them all!") Well, that is sort of your job, actually - your main job - as an estate sale company, come to think of it. If you're not going to price the books individually, for example, just put out a sign saying "Hardcovers are $4 each" or whatever the case may be. That's what 90%+ of estate sale companies do, by the way. Nope - nothing. Zilch. No signs, no person in the room to ask - just chaos. A complete waste of a trip, plus the wasted time waiting in line, etc. Worse than wasted, actually - extremely unpleasant. I had even called the day prior to get a sense of the pricing for books, but my call was never returned. The online signup didn't work at first, nor did the QR code on their sign. The gentleman (I use that term very loosely) in charge of calling the names, thought he was at Second City, and tried (unsuccessfully) to crack jokes as he read the list - which was done painfully slowly I might add. He began by saying "Does anyone know if they're #1? Number 2?" And he was looking at the actual list while he said this, mind you! Several people then said, "just read the list." Here's one gem of a "joke" that I distinctly remember - there was a name on the list of East Asian origin, and the guy actually said (I am not kidding) - "Oh, here's a hard one!" He then proceeded to pronounce the name in a super-exaggerated stereotypical East Asian accent, and then said "How did I do?" Wow. Racist much? I could hear three or four people in line sigh at that one. Unprofessional doesn't even begin to describe Aunt Bee's Estate Sales. They have no business being face-to-face with anyone, and they certainly aren't very good at running, well, estate sales. They didn't open on time (they had "technical problems," supposedly), and it was utter mayhem once we entered the home. I could go on, but I'm getting a headache just thinking about this sale. Do yourself a favor, and skip their next one, and the next one, and the next one... you...
Read moreI can’t say enough good things about Aunt Bee’s Estate Sales. Every sale I go to, I feel genuinely welcomed. The staff is incredible, so kind, thoughtful, and truly caring. They treat every home and every person with such respect, and it shows in everything they do.
One of the things I appreciate most is how organized everything is. Each item has a barcode and price, which makes browsing and buying simple and stress-free. I don’t tend to carry cash on me, so I love that I’m able to use my debit card. It makes the experience even easier.
But what makes Aunt Bee’s truly special is the people. You can feel the love and care behind each sale. They go above and beyond to make what can often be a difficult time for families feel peaceful and dignified.
If you’re ever looking to attend an estate sale, or need a trusted team to help with one, Aunt Bee’s is the one to call. They make the process not only smooth...
